Stoke City chairman Peter Coates on Talksport:

Carlton Cole deal not done - work in progress.

Dann and Jerome fee agreed but personal terms no agreed - we have a valuation of what a player is worth and stick to it. Agents tell players what they think they are worth and play the field until the end of august if necessary.

Working on a pay as you play deal for Woodgate.

In general - transfers are getting harder every year - clubs and Agents are always after written offers so they can play you off against others - loads of skullduggery going on and you have to duck and dive with them.

I hope we don't get stuck with Jerome!

What? You wait and see what CH can do with him.

Looks like this deal could be back on if we're to believe the story in the mirror. Nursey has been spot on with several other stories regarding blues so possibly true.

£16 million would ease a lot of pressure on the board with the bank.

Will it really be 16 million up front, their original offer was only 8 million that could rise to 16 million depending on various clauses.

We should only do the deal if it is 16 million up front.

I still believe another team will come in for Dann, he is far too good for Stoke.

It was only £8m plus a load of " if to comes". The chances of Jerome playing for England and Stoke finishing in the top 6 are slim to nil. So it will be £8m . I think if we accept this we must be truely in the mire financially. If we can hang on until the end of the window, surely we would get at least £8m for Dann alone ?

Short interview on Skysports with Scott Dann with video as well.

What I found interesting was they were all lining up and being arranged for the squad photo in the background, with no one appearing to wondering where Dann was for the photocall?

Sought-after Birmingham defender Scott Dann is ignoring the ongoing speculation surrounding his future and concentrating on the upcoming season.

The centre-half is thought to be on the radar of several top-flight clubs this summer, with Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool all believed to be chasing his signature.

Stoke have also made an unsuccessful bid for his services, while ex-Blues boss Alex McLeish is reportedly keen to see the stopper follow him to Aston Villa.

And while 24-year-old Dann is keen to rejoin the Premier League after suffering relegation with Birmingham last term, he insists he is concentrating primarily on the new campaign.

"Obviously I'm an ambitious person and I want to play at the top level," Dann told Sky Sports News. "Everyone who knows me knows that.

"I don't really want to comment on speculation. Things have been said in the press and it's always like that.

Still here

"Up until now I'm still a Birmingham City player.

"Obviously players have moved on and I'm still here. Until anything happens otherwise I'm still a Birmingham player. I can't say much more really."

Dann says his chief concern has been regaining fitness after a hamstring injury saw him miss the second half of last season.

"From a personal point of view I've just been concentrating on getting myself fit," he added.

"I missed the end of the season last year and I've been determined to get myself back fit and back playing games.

"I've done that, I'm back and ready to go now and just looking forward to the season."

After seeing that interview Im quite annoyed, he seems to have no interest in staying with us.. I understand wanting to join a top flight team but why can he not put in another good season with blues and help us out, he just wants the easy way out (as do the majority of players these days so nothing unique there) it just seems odd to publicly say that you want to leave without a "real" reason other than "I want to play top flight football"

Annoys me...

I can see him being here at least until January. Unless someone is willing to pay our asking price then he wont be sold it is the same with Ridgewell, Jerome and Zigic are injured so to a degree i can see teams steering clear until jan with them too.

I would of said that a month or two back before seeing the pathetic amount we sold Gardner and Johnson for. If that is the case again he will proberbly sold in a week or two for about 7, 8 million. :banghead:

Agreed.

I also think he was very diplomatic in the interview - wouldn't discuss speculation and none of this 'think of my family' bullsh%t that Gardner came out with.

Given our situation and his fitness, my biggest concern is that a £10m player goes for £5m because despite the 'reassuring statement', we are skint and Pannus asset stripping as fast as he can.

Keep him till Jan, then if we're top or near to it sell him to a Top Four team for what he's worth, not a Fire Sale price.

I'd love to have seen how he would've got on under Hughton's attacking style, however i think a lot of fans have had enough off him and visa versa so a move is probably for the best!!! The concern for me is our replacement is rumoured to be Nile Ranger...

Back Row behind Doyle and next to Rooney. I don't understand the comment.

Today's Sunday People.

Cameron Jerome dream's of getting back into the Premier League are in doubt - because of his heel injury.
Birmingham City hit man Jerome is wanted by Bolton and Fulham- with Leicester City also lurking-but he may be sidelined for weeks.Wanders have pulled back from a £3.5 million deal because of the injury, while Fulham are also stalling.
Blues want to sell Jerome as the need the cash and have lined up free agent Craig Fagan as his replacement.

I would have thought the £3.5m offer they've supposedly pulled back from would have far more to do with Cam not getting back into the Premier League than his heel ever could do. It's just not enough.

Saw him a couple of times for Hull a few seasons back when he had a good season for him, looked decent that season and I remember a few on here saying typical another youth player we release who comes good. Seems to have gone off the boil since then though.
