I was unsure whether to post it, but someone said it had been posted previously on the forum so I didn't think it was a problem. If it is mods please delete and I apologize upfront... The pubs around their Parti, either The Herons Nest or The Drum n Monkey? For the record I am NOT a stalker, just came across the house when looking for a place to rent and i also do NOT drive a mini metro...If only ;-) |

The Drum and Monkey is opposite Hogarths Hotel which is pretty fancy (down Four Ashes Road). The only other old pubs I can think of near there are the Masons Arms in Solihull or the Red Lion in Knowle. Maybe Mcfadden is selling up because he knows he's going to have to accept reduced wages and can't afford the property anymore. |

I think McFadden has been a very good servant to the club. If he had played for us i think we would have managed to get the points required we missed his assists. It is unfortunate at present if Blues have to offer him money which he considers to be derisory but this is the position the club is currently in. :blues: |

I think Parti may be referring to Hillfield Hall and The Stables. Sadly, both have now been turned into luxury flats. I once met Hoppy, Tony Coton and Howard Gayle in there.......No wonder it closed down ;) |

McFadden is not a bad player whatsoever. If he would be willing to accept what we can afford, I would really like to see him stay. If not, all the best and I'll always remember your goal for Scotland against the French in Paris! On the other hand, given the number of free agents on the market, Financial Fair Play coming in soon for European clubs and the Football League looking to introduce a version of it, players like McFadden may well have to accept less than they believe they are worth. Apart from the highest echelon of players, we may well start seeing a real deflation in wage rates being paid so that clubs become more financially stable. Just a thought. |

Well on that note Does anyone know if JB's (club) and golf range is still there on Damson Lane I remember it years before as the old Bakelite sports ground ......used to play footy there and they had a nice little clubhouse.....then they built the club.....it was just up the road a bit from the old BCFC training ground I heard Solihull Moors play on that spot now....I might be wrong though feed.back |

My dad used to manage that when it was JB's. JB's has well gone! well we went to sheldon hall in 1999 and john sold it around 2/3 years after we moved so reckon Jb's has been gone 8 years now. JB's = John brandworth (the owners name) started as a private members club, then let any tom, dick or harry in after afew years. had golf range, shooting club, night club, resturant, bar, private function rooms. it was a massive place. sold it to solihull moors football club and blues reserves used to play there aswell up until a couple of season ago. i have wondered where solihull moors got the money from in the first place though, it must of be a sale of previous land, because i would have thought it would have cost them a fair few million. anyway parti i hope this has answered your quesition. :kro: |

Shame that, thanks for the info As I said, got lots of old memories of the old BXL ground and Damson Lane was redeveloped over the years, used to be all Green Belt land in the days of the the old Blues training ground I used to play at the old Civil Service ground facing the airport as well ......Blues trained there for a while during the TF days......Muck and Duck days as it was known........I remember the flock of geese as well :LMAO: Anyway back to topic.....any updates on McFadden ?? I can't see him playing in a Blue shirt again Very surprised he hasn't signed for Celtic ......Does Lennon even know he's available on a free ?? feed.back |

it still remains green belt land, hence the land was only good for a golf range, and now is only being used as a football pitch. |
