Was gutted at first when I heard £7m was the fee, but the more I've thought about this the happier I would be to get the wantaways out the door ASAP. The fees might be less than we thought but to be honest we've probably already convinced ourselves they are worth more than they are.

Hearing we've turned down £16m from Stoke for Jerome and Dann, but they were coming back with and improved bid makes you think you're invinsibile. Then it turns out the actual offer was about £8m and you realise they're not worth what you thought they were. I remember about 6 months ago we were discussing what our squad was worth and most people put Dann and Johnson around the £7m/8m mark ... and that was pre-relegation.

As I said above, lets get them all out ASAP, and then we can concentrate on building a squad who can get us promoted. As much as I'd love Dann to stay it isn;t going to happen so lets sell this week, get as much as possible for him, followed up with Ferguson, Michel and Zigic and then lets plan a proper pre-season.

Whats the point of taking these people to Cork and maybe even playing them in the friendlies over people like Redmond and Fahey who are going to be playing next season.

Sell the rats and spend the rest of the window bargain hunting

This isn't 'gossip', it's actually happening, so why isn't this in Blues Chat?

£7m for a want-away is a good deal, plus I'm still a firm believer in that if we hadn't had Foster and Hart (the 2 best english goalkeepers about) behind him in a totally defensive team then he would have shipped far more goals than he did and there wouldn't be any talk of him being in the england squad.

One word - overrated.

Why does Johnson even want to sign for them, seems like a step sidewards to me.

Not often I get dismayed with footbal but just seeing RJ on SSN sat in his Bentley dismissing leaving Blues as 'not really a big decision for him' has got me fairly depressed.

He couldn't even be bothered pretending otherwise...

We might be able to get him back for £4m next season then

We shouldn't be too harsh on RJ. The club needed the money and Roger did give it all for the team. a real leader. At least he didn't declare his dying love for the blues before he left (note to blue badge kisser)

I really think Davies will fill his boots, anyway next season we'll chamge places with wolves

It has really pushed it home for me.

Seeing "our" players, the players we loved and idolised hightailing it as soon as they fail and get us relegated has put a huge dent in my love for football.

It started with international football. I would love to see England successful and win something but I wouldn't call myself an active England fan. I only watch them at major tournaments and I needed some major persuasion to watch them last time round. I found it very hard to indentify them, thought them a bunch of overpaid mercenaries who didn't give a damn how they played because at the end of the day they would still get their 70k that week whilst many of the people who adored them and cheered their names struggled to make ends meet. They were a team of individuals with no morals who would sleep with each others wives and girlfriends at the drop of a hat. It was club over country every time for me

. I love Blues and have been a season ticket holder in much worse times than this, however I'm really starting to question if I want to continue to loyally invest my cash each season supporting a team that don't know the meaning of the word. They are just out for money be it my money, your money, sky's money. If it was about ambition and competing at the highest level possible then Johnson would not be signing for Wolves (no disrespect to them).

compare his comments with stuart parnaby who has said he would of liked to stay and would come back if he had the chance just shows you its all about the money for johnson but 7 million for a 28yr old who without dann for the second half of last season looked at times unsteady is a good deal imho

very depressing seeing our best players being snapped up by the likes of Wolves.

SSN just reported that RJ's having a medical at Wolves

http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_7032695,00.html

Birmingham defender Roger Johnson has confirmed he is undergoing a medical with Wolves.

Skysports.com reported earlier on Monday that Wolves were closing in on a deal to sign the centre-back, with a £7million fee thought to have been agreed.

And Johnson has moved a step closer to signing after arriving at Wolves' training ground this afternoon.

"I've not signed yet, we're still going through the medical," he told Sky Sports News.

"The physio's there now, I've just got a bit more to do. That's as far as it's got at the minute.

"We're halfway through and we'll see what happens."

Johnson made a £5million move from Cardiff to Birmingham in 2009 following Blues' promotion back into the Premier League.

And although Johnson helped them win the Carling Cup last term, he could not prevent them slipping out of the top flight.

When it was put to Johnson that it cannot have been an easy decision to leave St Andrews, he said: "No, it wasn't. I enjoyed my time there.

"But the relegation half made the decision for me.

"I want to be in the Premier League and I'm sure everyone can appreciate that."
