My first fav player was Trevor Hockey, can remember how upset I was when he was sold to Sheff Utd.

But my all time Fav is Joe Gallagher, a true Pro, loves the club even though not a Brummie, and true gentleman as well off the pitch

Never saw TF in his prime as my Dad took me from Aug 1978 - so i'd have to say Frank Worthington...2 seasons of genius.

Hate to say it, but Robbie Savage..

the ultimate team player..
He's the one player who astounded me the most with his determination and never say die attitude. We were a different team without him..
I liked him until he decided to go to Blackburn to be near his parent in Wrexham.

feb 14th 1974 Valantines day but it broke my heart! No warning just sold out of the blue! We got Howard Kendall (good) and Archie Styles (rubbish) plus some cash. bad bad deal!
Latch went onto play for England and score 30 yes 30 league goals one season!!
I missed him on the pitch at half time last season and was gutted.
culdashudawoulda been best blues striker ever!
And a proper south Birmingham Brummie!

After Trevor...Robbie the most influential player ever seen in a blues shirt!!
Fantasydosy is the technical term I understand. Against the Villa he was the difference!!
Because they hated him so much we loved him. heart & desire what a combination
and ignoring jibes from his many detractors the guy could play!!

Im Only 23 so my favourite player ive actually seen play would have to go to Dugarry but from the stories and things people have told me Francis and Gil Merrick were quite special!!

I did actually meet Gil Merrick once or twice, and have to say what a true gent the man was, top class, never moaned or groaned when people wanted autographs or pictures. Top man and a true Blue Legend!!

KRO!!

Fantasydosy??? c`mon mate jimmy krankies catch phrase...keep up!
Anyway now I`m back on
Heres another name check
Bob Hatton!! be worth millions today scored a MASSIVE amount of goals during his career. WE got him from carlisle as he scored two crackers against us early in our promo season 72!

Also he got important goals just like the horse! one to keep us up V Norwich, one at Oxford on good friday 72 to keep us in the promo pack! and his winner V Middlesborough in the 75 Q/F.
That idiot Willie Bell (worst manager ever???) sold him to Blackpool where he promptly got either three or four hat tricks that season.
Sti;l lives local and attends Stans, and, again a perfect Gent!

Bob was the one of the great 3 fowards at that time with Lachford and Francis, and was the one who IMO got less attention by the press, but he was to me the most underrated player, score goals for fun, and as you said went on to score loads more then with Blackpool and Sheff Utd. he should never have been sold.
How we could do with someone like him now
A great player
