I trust CH. He must know what he wants, or is missing. The future is looking bright.

More importantly than anything he may have done alone, alongside CH at Newcastle they peed the Championship, and that my friends, is what we are currently looking to do !

Really though?

Hands up who would like to get promoted this season?

I for one definitely wouldn't.

I for one am happy with this appointment as calderwood will play bad cop & allow ch to be good cop.

It didn't affect the way newcastle played when together previously don't expect it to now.

So you dont like him Lowds?

Great he will do for me!

Strangely heard Trollope interviewed for the first time before Burnley game and thought what a positive guy he was!

KRO

p.s someone said Forest fans didnt like him despite him winning promotion???????
Has Lowds got a relative in Nottingham?

KRO

Lowdham is 10 miles east of Nottm. Many of my mates are Forest fans and I just love beating them 3-1 at the City Ground. :drink: :dancer:

Lowdham doesn't need relatives in Nottingham, he's already there:

Lowdham is a village in Nottinghamshire between Nottingham and Southwell.

**thumbup nice gepgraphical knowledge Blackie.

and I am equidistant from both racecources.

Well, if they can afford to appoint an assistant manager, we can't be that desperate or destitute....

Why cant we? Its just the same as getting a player on a free transfer, which is all we've done this season because we are broke.

Tom, for a start off it's extra wages when we've already got someone in who can do that job in Paul Trollope. When you have'nt got enough money to feed your kids you don't take on another one! It indicates that there is still money available if CH really wants it, not much I grant you but enough! It's a good sign that the stories of our demise aren't as prevalent as certain parts of the media would have you believe!

I think it's a good move as Calderwood has management experience and would appear to make up a good coaching team with CH if Newcastle's turn round is anything to go by.

I think it makes for an even better coaching team when you add Paul T as well.

Hughton, Calderwood and Trollope will work great as a team. I've hard that CH wants to stress that adding Calderwood to the back room staff doesn't take away anything from the great job that Trollope is currently doing. Hopefully it will just strengthen what I would already consider a strong management team.

I also like the fact he has links with Dave Watson and Trollope already, having managed Trollope, and having Watson as his goalkeeper coach at Forest.

Yes , I looked at this and thought that we must be managing the finances much better, IF we were about to go into admin I don't think we would have appointed him , or that he would have come. It is all good news for me, CH,CC,PT and DW look a tight productive team, and if CC is a little more defencive minded tha CH this is not a problem. Although I think our defence is still the strongest conponent of our team , there are times (soton away, maybe be blackpool and cardiff away, west ham, etc) Where we need to be more structured, you cant go into these games with basically 2 in midfield and 2 wingers, because our midfield gets out numbered and over run, and then you will blame Fahey!!!!!

Good teams attack and defend in equal measures, this is a good balance and I can only see it making our team better and stronger **thumbup

Let's keep an eye on our team formations. I hope we don't take a step towards the dark ages again and dispense with the two wide players.....but there again there could be a much needed change in centre midfield.

This is my big worry with bringing in Calderwood. Hughton may know him and be happy working with him, but the Hibs fans didn't seem to rate him at all.

Forest fans hated him as much as I hated McLeish. He was bad at Forest, playing negative and dross football. Forest fans were disappointed when they were promoted from League One - as it meant he wouldn't be sacked. However he didn't last long thereafter.

mmm I am not happy. I will be watching closely.

Its Hughton who will be making the decisions not calderwood

I personally think its great news, its a proven winning formula! Also it will help to balance the team out and start picking up some more clean sheets. Good news :)

I am happy with him and I am sure they will make a great partnership, my only worry is that if we lose 3 or 4 of our best players in January we could have Alex Ferguson and still end up mid-table.

Can't believe you actually wouldn't want us to be successful this season and get promoted. What's the point otherwise?
