This is getting stupid now, the shirts are delayed because of no sponsor, the club say they are looking at offers, this could be the worst deal for a while now as:

1. the sponsor knows we are desperate to sort so have us over a barrel and will go in cheap

2. sponsors will be put off by the CY problems, threats of having assets frozen etc

This should have been sorted months a go, what a farce!
What are the team going to wear in Cork? Their training tops???

1. relegation put paid to a number of sponsorship deals, so the club have to work harder to get a reasonable offer from any potential sponsor in this division. This takes times, and doesn't net as much money. This much is obvious.

2. Why would Carson's situation put off a potential sponsor. Were a buisness that he owns a third share in, not News of the World.

Hello we are a football club carrying the name of Englands second city, we have spent much of the last decade in the premier league, would you like to sponsor us?

Ok.

There I just did it.

We're one tie away from gaining prolonged exposure to 842 million people across Europe by qualifying for the group stages of UEFA's second largest competition.

Not to add the relative size of our club, fan base, a great amount of Sky and BBC exposure compared to the rest of the teams in our league and the very real possibility of us getting back up to the Premier League next season...

...we're an attractive proposition to many sponsors. So hopefully we'll hear about one soon.

We will need a very favourable draw to get thru a european tie

You have to be realistic and look at the level of team that is likely to start the season for us

Challenging in the championship is priority and that looks to be tough

It's stuff like this that continues to make us look like a joke to outsiders. It's embarrassing. Who the hell is manning the commercial/marketing dept at St Andrews? It wouldn't surprise me if the kits didn't turn up till late August. Then again, that'd be an improvement on last year.

I don't think fans of other clubs really care whether we have a sponsor or not. The only ones that possibly do are the McVillians & Wolves, and regardless of what we do they'll find a way of mocking us - not that I care one jot.

I'd prefer it without a sponsor and pay a little bit more for the shirt.

Or there's more than deal on the table and negations are taking place between the various party's and us?

BTW 1 Relegation will have complicated things.

BTW 2 Haven't some other clubs still to announce or only just announced?

I think you'd struggle to get a charity after the deal Ville did with Acorns. Worse thing they ever did apparently.

The quote from the boss of acorns went something like "Corporate donations make up the vast majority of donations, and they've dropped of the cliff"...or words to that effect.

albion didnt have a sponsor during the last season in the championship, but unlike in the premier league you can have a different sponsor every week if you wish. this does give smaller firms or local firms the chance to sponsor their club. and the shirts got auctioned off after the game.

I expect anyone in HK is trying to distance themselves from CY at the moment, so any bridges there have been severed (or at least temporarily blocked off)

1. We might have sponsors queing for us and we are just dealing for the better option

2. I don't see how that will affect a sponsor on a shirt
