Doesn't make sense to move him on, he's not gonna generate a big money transfer where we can't refuse it. His experience and leadership in the team is invaluable in the championship, personally I think hes a good player and would be gutted if we lost him to another team chasing promotion. |

Bolton and Sunderland have 'joined the chase' for his signature. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11688_7032801,00.html |

Don't mind losing him if I'm Honest sad to see him go though as he has been a good servant for the club. But i do think we need new blood in the midfield with more pace and guile,Jordan Mutch,Gomis and Michel may be able to provide this. If not then i have mentioned him before but Mcgugan would fit the bill in the engine room for us. |

Its all very well people applauding him going.... But who is going to replace him ???? He maybe hasn`t got the legs to play 40 games a season, but make no bones about it Barry Ferguson is a class act on his day... For the person who takes his role as a holding midfielder..... they are very, very big boots to fill... Gomis ? Mutch ?... I somehow don`t think so ! |

You are not supposed to ask sensible questions like that. People are ignoring his 1st season at the club. they do not take into account that for the majority of last season he was having to play deeper and deeper as Blues were always on the defensive. We should do all we can to hold onto him, but i doubt we will. |

He is a top class midfielder & would fit in ANY team in the prem no doubt. Iv got a lot of love for the man especially after what he done in the martins goal celebration- legend! Anyone that thins he is poor knows nothing about football. If there are no forward passes then he keeps the ball. Top man! |

At this rate it'll be like we were never relegated. We just moved further North. Brucie reminds me of the kind of guy that'd get excited come the transfer window on FM and spend billions on anyone and everyone. |

Hope it is true, Barry is a brilliant player. He's got the legs for a wee while, but Blackpool don't have "Sports Science" - Mental-Physical Resources for players. Most importantly, Barry was an Alex Mcleish diehard, a man that would run through walls for Alex, as he did when he broke his ribs, and only carried on by playing with injections. A Truly fantastic player a really terrific character. AND...there is a BUT.... Barry is 101% supportive of Alex. He was the Alex in the dressing room, as Keane was at Man Utd, as Nolan was, as Bremner was--the manager voice. So he can't stay. He is too honest. He has to go and he has to be part of the removal of Alex's influence in the dressing room. I'd like to keep him, but he has got a big mouth and a big heart and staying at Blues he would need to be compliant. A subdued Barry is no good for anyone. **thumbup |

Would be deeply disappointed if we sold him full stop, but if we sold him to Blackpool or another championship side, I would be absolutely fuming. |

Looking and hearing snippets from the training ground ,it looks like we will be playing a higher tempo game next season, and you can see Chris bringing in younger players with more pace, And again the players that are leaving they were always going to leave, its no big deal to me, Time to move on now, Some DONT want to be here ,Some will be sold to balance the books,Thats life ,thats what relegation brings. |

If there are no forward passes then we don't score- which was usually the case. |

If we have no players past they half way line, or wingers that can never beat a man (seb larsson) and no player other than lee bowyer making a run through the middle then its better to keep the ball. There is no rush & knocing the ball out is better than trying something then we lose the ball. That does not apply to every player as your creative players are there for that, but Ferguson is more of a man that keeps the tempo of the game going. I think the top 3 teams keep the ball for an average of 3.5 seconds even if they get it returned to them straight away. Ferguson is exactly the same. If he wants out or we cant afford him then fair enough but it still does not take away anything from his ability. He would be head & class above anyone in the league bar Scott Parker (if he stays). |

Losing ferguson would be a big blow, he would be the experienced player in the centre that we need to help the likes of Jordan Mutch (If he does get to start) I agree with a poster on this thread, that under AM he was not allowed to play his favoured style. After all the problems we had heard about him before he came here, he as been a model pro, and done us proud. I can only thing that if CH feels he can let him go, is that he as a replacement in mind already. Will be sorry to see Barry go, but if he does best of luck to him, and will always remember him slapping that Arsenal player on the head after Martins scored the winner at Wembley |

What on earth are you on about. If you are on about the slap he gave the Arsenal player, then was the player seriously hurt? I have seem mothers in the past slap a child harder. As I said he had his problems before coming here, but while here playing for us he as been a model pro. Seems you have to know all and everything about the Blues at present. Time for an holiday and a long rest for you curly, the stress it getting to you |

Ferguson's actions after the goal were graceless and unnecessary is all. If people want to refer them as 'quality' and 'legendary' then that's their shout but I don't buy it. |
