"and baz wants to be closer to Scotland! "

I think "the crab" just wants to be closer to the beach and a good rock pool  **thumbup

You are so NOT funny! :ph43r:

The nearer Scotland Baz is the better but I'd rather him stay at Blues than go to another championship team.

It was pretty funny lol. KRO!!!!

I'd only let Fergie go if we can get better quality than him. Someone like Guthrie maybe and he's younger which is a plus. I'd also like Punchen from Southampton. KRO!!!!

I never thought I'd see the day when our Club sold one of its best players to Blackpool...for me BF was the lifeblood of the team, who controlled the tempo of the game, was never caught in possession, invariably received the pundits' plaudits as man of the match, and often played through the pain barrier...how far we have fallen under the fake Chinese dynasty...

I think Gomis could be a little star in the making and the perfect replacement. KRO!!!!

Baz joined in massive part due to AMc's relationship with him... I always thought that once AMc left Baz would leave as well, though I never imagined it would be for a club like Blackpool.

I don't know Barry's thoughts or feelings over the state of affairs, but he very well may want a move away and has let those thoughts be known to the decision makers, and they in turn will grant him his wish while making something off the sell, but who knows? They could just as easily see it as an opportunity to collect another fee. I don't know.

A part of me hates to see him go as he's been vital for us, while another thinks it would be a great opportunity for some of the newer additions and younger players who've been here to seize their chance.

Remember that CH is calling the shots now on who goes and who stays,With the players that have been linked since CH took over is it any surprise that older players are leaving.CH has mentioned he is looking at bringing a younger look to the team.
Lets just wait and see if players like Guthrie arrive before judging the board and the manager.

Ferguson was a great player for us, but if he leaves it gives players like Mutch and gomis a chance to prove them selves.

Deal all pretty much sorted, should be announced as a blackpool player on Monday. Leeds were also interested but bf off to the seaside. Cheers Barry and good luck, a class act and up there in the top 3 midfielders I've seen at blues.

I find it hard to comprehend why we're selling him to what could be a rival for promotion, I really do. I'm rather disappointed about this, for those going to Cork it'll probably be the last time that we see him in a Blues shirt.

Bluemood you been watching games with your eyes wide shut, no wonder he was never caught in possession playing crab passes, i.e. sideways & backwards last season.
And do you remember him getting past the half way line last season. Heres an example at Blackburn between larson & him cost us a goal right on half time.
Yes he's been good for us but faded badly last season.
And before you rant on about hin playing injured with injections well I'm sorry but he was badly found out in that period and for my money one of the major reasons for our poor finish to the season.
I think it says it all where he is going, don't you think
On a high though- hey ho new and younger blood is the order of the day,

I do believe he will not be missed.

My opinion

'We're off to partisan' now without the scotsman.

Yeah, true you should have two people for every position but what if someone gets injured?

:kro:

my recollection of the goal at Blackburn just before half-time was that Ridgewell laboured on the ball and was caught in possession, partly distracted by Johnson running back onto the pitch to his left hand side after recovering from his head injury...but then as you say I was watching (at the ground) with my eyes wide shut...

personlly I agree with the post that has Barry Ferguson in the best 3 central midfielders at St Andrews...certainly since I started watching in 1973...along with Archie Gemmill and Robbie Savage

Fahey - better on the wide left in my opinion and he seems to have acquired new found plaudits on this board after being savaged for most of last season

Mutch - has shown nothing as yet to convince me he will make a significant contribution to the Championship...lacks the control of Ferguson and the drive of Gardner and the clean ball striking skills of Bowyer

Michel - would probably prefer playing in Spain to Barnsley on a cold winter night

Gomis - unproven in English football

I can't see any goals from central midfield and have no confidence on any investment by the Board prior to the end of the transfer deadline

Fahey, as most know is not a wide man, he he a central midfield player, and eye for a pass, he got slated last season due to continually being forced to play out wide.

Mutch, need to play to get the experience, as all the talent, so time for him to be given the chance, as if you don't give him the chance he will never be ready.

Michel, know one really knows what the situation is with him, now a new manager is in, and maybe one that see him as a vital player, he may just see he will be playing regualr football, which no doubt he wants.

Gomis, well yes he is unproven in English football, and maybe a gamble, but could become a star player.

We have Burke who can excite the crowd with wing play and create goals and score the odd ones

If we look at our midfield from last season, did we score a load from there?
OK Bowyer was probalby the only one.
