Fahey - better on the wide left in my opinion and he seems to have acquired new found plaudits on this board after being savaged for most of last season

Mutch - has shown nothing as yet to convince me he will make a significant contribution to the Championship...lacks the control of Ferguson and the drive of Gardner and the clean ball striking skills of Bowyer

Michel - would probably prefer playing in Spain to Barnsley on a cold winter night

Gomis - unproven in English football

I can't see any goals from central midfield and have no confidence on any investment by the Board prior to the end of the transfer deadline

Fahey, as most know is not a wide man, he he a central midfield player, and eye for a pass, he got slated last season due to continually being forced to play out wide.

Mutch, need to play to get the experience, as all the talent, so time for him to be given the chance, as if you don't give him the chance he will never be ready.

Michel, know one really knows what the situation is with him, now a new manager is in, and maybe one that see him as a vital player, he may just see he will be playing regualr football, which no doubt he wants.

Gomis, well yes he is unproven in English football, and maybe a gamble, but could become a star player.

We have Burke who can excite the crowd with wing play and create goals and score the odd ones

If we look at our midfield from last season, did we score a load from there?
OK Bowyer was probalby the only one.

Erm GG got 10 from midfield

Sorry but just keep trying to forget him

But I still feel we have to wait till the season starts and see who we may bring in, if anyone, before stlating the players.

As for me Fahey in a central role will create and score goals, as will Mutch given the chance to shine.
These players have to be given the chance

Mutch on loan at Watford last season scored 5 goals in 23 appearances. That's a better ration than CG last season, when you consider Gardner played a lot more minutes. Who was saying we won't score from midfield?

Fahey scored a bit last time we were in the Champo as well and one of my goals of the season at Stoke Away.

Me too. He was the embodiment of MacScrotum's will out on the pitch and that will was cowardly and neurotic. Here's to the new guy and a new set of players who will try- at the very least- to play a bit of football.

Said on SSN that he didn't stay to watch the friendly against Rangers tonight and it was still ongoing. Apparently 750K is the agreed fee

Will he not be on lower wages at Blackpool, heard they have a wage cap of less than 10,000 a week and I doubt they would break that figure for Ferguson.

A guy on talksport (blackpool local paper reporter) said that Ferguson would be earning more than any player was earning last year in the PREM

I wonder who will anchor the midfield now then, we wont find a player better than Ferguson at controlling possession in front of the back four.

Far too many people are just writing him off as if he hasnt done anything for us.

He was a big player for us, and will be missed... but at the end of the day, he's 33, and one of our highest earners, so a move could benefit all parties.

This is the same guy who played on for the majority of the Carling Cup final, with broken ribs, and still bossed that midfield against the best passing/footballing side in the country.

He struggled second half of the season playing on with that injury, but fair play to him for trying!

Quality player but maybe misused last season (by McLeish or himself choosing so)only letting Gardner going forward and not taking turns on defensive duties with Gardner, He could have got a lot of assists if he did and could have used a bit of attacking creativity in final 3rd which we lacked this season.

Is Gomis an anchor type player ?
