Hi.
I was disgusted to find that only Fozzie before the game and Doyley after the game, came across to the 2-300 Blues fans at the Cork match.
Travelling such distances deserves some praise from the Blues players and management team.
I didnt see any of the players clap either.

Now I never liked McCleish as a manager but he always did appreciate the fans and on many occasions redirected the players back to show their appreciation.
Hughton didn't. Bad start in my book.
Not like me to be negative but there was lots of people of the same mind!
So for those of us planning to go on the European tour, we know what to expect!

You didn't go there to get applauded by the players. You went there to get sloshed and applaud them. He didn't ask you to go.

Well done for going my friend.

Did you expect the first half team to come back out and clap you as well ?
Ben was a first half player Colin a second half player.

For 90% of the players, this was their first game for Blues, and that is surely enough of a milestone that they should be given the benefit of the doubt about "protocol" as you see it.

No need to slag them or be disgusted.

I have a colleague who went, and he got snaps and autographs of almost all the squad within 2 days. With himself alongside Much and Redmond and Burke and so on he brags. :banghead:

The players are in training, this was their first public outing - and you choose to make a post that you are disgusted by their behaviour. Also the new management.
For not clapping you. :boohoo:

We will see.

Which explains why you made the best researched piece of anti-McLeish ever posted.

:LMAO:

Blimey my friend you can't have your cake and eat it.

This thread is basically a petty, anti-blues thread.
How much better if the OP had asked "Come on Chris, get the players to applaud the fans" ?

Instead he is disgusted and you chip in about how Alex Mcleish recognised this fact about fan acknowledgement.

But you didn't make any point, did you.Just that you met Alex once.

I agree disgusted is a little over the to but if I went I would definatley be disapointed.

It works both way, the players should feed off the fans and vice versa - we sing and cheer, they play well, create chances etc which in turn gets us more excited - we then sing louder and they in turn get the bit between their teeth and play better and so on and so forth.

As fans we are appreciative of the players who give their all for our club, likewise they should show their appreciation for us - Its cliched but without us (as footie fans in general) they would be stocking shelves at asda for minimum wage, not on however many thousand a week

Pools.

It's a bloody friendly match.

We played 21 different players.

Most of them making auditions.

Is there ever going to be any repsite from trivial, petty, juvenile, anti-blues postings??

And are Mods like yourself, going to chip in and then slowly crawl bakwards when they realise they've realised they have made a mistake?

Mod involvement in a thread gives credence to that thread.

Pools, if you have an opinion, start a new thread my friend.
Don't chip in and then have second thoughts.

Common sense Pools.

Certainly seems like it! The time for feeling thoroughly depressed was at the end of the season, before McLeish resigned.

Yes, we have some hard times ahead, we know that, we can't change that.

But I am personally feeling quite optimistic about what CH can do with Blues, and about the atmosphere around the club lately.

I don't want us all dragged back down to doomsville, especially when there is at least a little light appearing at the end of the tunnel.

The Carson Yeung thing is something else, but there is no point criticising the manager now. Let's give him a break. He's the person who is helping to make things seem a little bit brighter after all. It's a long long road after all, for us and him.

That was because McLeish knew his limitations AND as a consequence he needed fans on his side. The "fans appreciation" was his way of pulling the wool over your eyes.

A carp inept boring manager who was desperate ........... can anyone remember those incessant emails every Monday with his excuses and how nice the dressing room was.

Hughton 5 McLeish 0

and from Villa Park
Houllier 3 McLeish 0
O'Leary 4 McLeish 0.

Blimey my old friend.

Don't post again tonight, the Vimto is showing **thumbup

Unfortunately I agree with you.

Not about Alex's tactics because I always trusted him to know his dressing room and know his players.

I only ever criticised him for being TOO cautious, playing TOO safe.
Inept - NO.

Doesn't matter now.

Alex destroyed my faith by his behaviour.
Resigning by email to make himself available to Villa.

Hughes resigned face-to-face with Fayed, at Fulham (and lost the Villa vacancy through Fayed's alleged comments to Lerner - close friends)
Hughes - Made himself available to Villa but Fayed put the boot in.

Alex did the same but in such a cowardly way - I'm still - truly bloody reeling.

Tactics? Boring footbal? They don't bother me. We are Blues.
We believe in our club from the players to the dug-out.
Tactics? Soddit

Integrity - YES.

Compare Larsson to Gardner - which of them had integrity and honesty?

McLeish shocked me, amazed me and like a NON-smokng convert I WILL BE ON HIS CASE FOREVER.

I distrust him = NOW - more than you my friend, and that is from a 100% defender of him.

But - Alex delivered.
Promotion
9th Place
Carling Cup.

Plus 2 relegations.

So, Lowds, imo, not inept or clueless. Timid and too cautious perhaps. But let us both hope he caries your opinions and mine, across the City.

Take care my my friend **thumbup

My colleague emailed me, absolutley ecstatic that he had Burke,Doyle and Keith in one frame. They were japin he said, whatever japin means :banghead:
He's also got nearly every players autographs. He said.

Hasn't answered about the allegation that the players ignored the fans.
I think he is on the whatyoucallit in Dublin now. :D

Damn come to think bout it. I sat down to dinner today, then i got up and the food was gone. Those sneaky suit wearing food robber should be ashamed BOARD OUT!!!..

I did LOl at the topic tho lol. If it was an away game half way through the season and the fans sung their hearts out and we didnt get a good resault then i can undserstand. But its a pre-season friendly :S does it really matter.
