It does not look bad at all to me for as long as we sell a lot more!

Birmingham City: Season ticket sales are "excellent" say club
Birmingham City season ticket sales have been unexpectedly buoyant, Blues officials announced today.

Despite relegation, the subsequent loss of players and off-field uncertainty, the club are delighted with the fact just under 11,200 have been sold with the season still more than two weeks away.

That is well in advance of the 8,900 moved at the same stage when, in 2008, Blues were last about to start a Championship campaign.

And it is surprisingly close to the 12,500 sold this time last year when they were coming off a ninth-place finish in the Premier League.

So actually a bit behind last season now, but still healthy.

Good news.

Hopefully we'll have a healthy gate attendance too.

Well considering theres these "fans" who seem to revel in the fact "they're not going and know a load of people not going anymore"... thats pretty healthy.

But the key news is we are up on last time we got relegated. KRO!

Plus during a time where to many people money is tight and football may have to take a step back, this is a healthy figure for the Club

Hey MF, I was one of those fans..........not anymore though, the boring barstool has gone.

I don't really do Sunday games so the threat of many of these (Europa progress) means that I will not get a ST. Shame really because we are up for it....starting with Derby on 6th August.

Anyway we will be there on most league games on a Saturday and midweek (but Europa progress could screw those midweeks up).

Thinking about it, the Europa could have a detrimental effect on our league gates with respect to non-ST holders. The league games constantly being re-scheduled all over the place and also not many will be doing both competitions.

Anyway good news regarding the STs. **thumbup

If Chrissy boy gets us playing football (and the signs are good) then there is no excuse for not popping along to St Andrews. We will be there most Saturdays. :blues:

As soon as we were relegated I knew I would not be able to attend many midweek games due to working commitments, but I still got my season ticket Lowds as it still represents value for money V pay on the day, and when I cant attend I normally allow a member oif my family to use it.

2 factors.

1 - The cup win = got a lot of people interested again

2 - McLeish out, Hughton in = a lot of people are optimistic of a return to entertainment at St Andrews

If McLeish had stayed then I'd guess the season ticket sales wouldn't be as high, but just imagine if we'd managed to stay in the Prem, not have any of this off-the-field trouble, and McLeish STILL left for Villa - we'd be close to 15k season ticket sales more like!

Oby, I agree. With 23 games it could be well worth it even taking into account missing some midweekers for us. The problem we have is (by choice) we don't do Sunday games and if we get through the Europa then a lot of home games will be a Sunday.

I would like to think we can get @20k for home games if we are playing decent football and are up and around the top8.

There will be more of us "walk-ups" prepared to go again.

Lets not forget that last seasons gates were often heavily boosted by travelling support-That won't be so evident this season.

PAYING FOR MINE ON THE 8 MONTHS 0%

SO IF WE HIT ADMINSTRATION/BANKRUPTCY I CAN JUST STOP PAYING THE MONTHLY DIRECT DEBIT AND WILL NOT BE ONE OF 10K+ SEASON TIKCET HOLDERS WHO WILL BE CREDITORS ;)

People who have bought season tickets aren't owed any money by BCFC - so they're not creditors.

Unfortunately yes, some of our attendance last season would have been embarrassing without them.

THEY WILL CREDITORS IF THEY HAVE PAID IN FULL AND THE CLUB FOLD MID SEASON THEREFORE NOT FULIFIYING THEIR FIXTURES.

DID YOU NOT UNDERSTAND?

I understand that I would be left with a worthless season ticket - but that's not the same as being a creditor. I won't labour the point though - I also understand that you probably don't have an accountancy qualification.

Even now, after all the discounted offers for renewing before July 1st have expired, it still works out at under £20 per game.

That's based on sitting in the Tilton/GM lower, it's cheaper still if you choose to sit in the Paddocks. Plus there's the benefits you get when it comes to European tickets.

They're really not over-priced.

out of interest why don't you 'do' sunday games? i am there supporting the lads regardless of what day of the week it is, the larger still tastes the same on sundays, in fact sometimes it even feels like its still a saturday if you havn't been to bed! not a pop just a quesition!
