I'm far from an expert on this sort of thing.....

the missus yesterday was cleaning the top of the oven where the gas hobs are.

Just went to turn one of the hobs on to do some eggs and it made a funny sound. Basically the water from when she was cleaning had sort of clogged the thing up. I got rid of the water but the gas still isn't working, and the other ones are giving much less pressure than they should.

Is there any safe way of unclogging these gas pipes/hobs?

As it's gas, I'm afraid to do anything to them.

Exactly, get a proper gas safe engineer out, it might cost you but with gas you can’t be too safe.

if they are the type that just lift off, you can remove them and wash them under warm water and clear the jets with a toothpick, dry them and replace them and light the gas and it will burn off what evers left, if they dont come off light them anyway and again see if it will burn off, but dont poke anything in the jets. if it doesnt clear then seek further advice. ps if you dont have the manual for the cooker anymore look it up on the internet on the company website and you should get advice from there.

The old ones are best..............Sky diver jumps out of a plane and after falling 3000 feet he pulls his rip cord but alas his parachute fails to open and he continues falling. Suddenly he sees a bloke below him shooting up towards him at an equal rate of knots. As they approach each other the sky diver shouts 'hey mate do you know anything about parachutes' to which the other bloke replies 'No, do you know anything about gas ovens'.
