A fire sale is the sale of goods at extremely discounted prices, typically when the seller faces bankruptcy or other impending distress.
Jonno 7m Gardner 5m foster 1m Bazza Free Phillips Free
Dann + Jerome for 12m
is this not exactly a 'fire sale'?
Think its time for Mr Pannu and CY to be up front and honest about our whole finances, put the record straight and get our club settled
Ponder on this question my fellow blue noses, What would have happend if we had stayed in the premier league??
Was our debt really this big? feed.back

Foster hasnt been sold has he?
Ferguson we are getting £6-700K for, Phillips' contract had expired
Dann and Jerome may go but it looks like we are holding out for more money which is a good sign.

Booooooorrrrrriiiiiiinnnnggggggggg!!
<yawn> Another whining thread about selling players. FFS we've been relegated and the owner banged up. We have low debts but little capital. To raise capital, we have to sell some of our assets. These are being sold for at least market value and in the case of Jerome (IF he is sold), considerably more.
Get over it...

I was thinking something similar myself ... seems like we'll accept any bid for any player and replace them with a freebie.
To be fair to Pannu, if he'd come out and said "everything must go" we'd have all slated him for making it public as we'd have been offered peanuts.
In reality I'm sure everyone knows we need to sell and are just offering a half of what they think people are worth in the hope we'll have to sell.
We need some kind of clear communication from the club re: the finances, rather than Pannu just churning out his rubbish out "we're not in financial meltdown" because we clearly are. We need to hear that one "£xm" has been brought in the manager is free to spend everything on incoming transfers. Otherwise I can see Hughton resigning before this season has even started!

What would you have Pannu do? He can't accept bids that only exist in the Daily Drivel. He is doing what he can, and he is playing the game with a poor hand. It's not his fault we are bust. He has to make a judgement on what offers actually come in, and somehow generate some money. A lot of the valuations quoted in the papers are totally unrealistic. If the players were that good, why didn't we finish in mid-table? We have seen many times, how quoting a figure the manager has at his disposal, can work against us. He should continue to say nothing on that issue. There is a good chance 2 or 3 more players will leave before the end of August; and hopefully, Pannu will have brought in £20-25m in total. It may be enough to prevent insolvency, and if so he will have done a very good job.

:LMAO:
Sullivan said "everyone can go - including Parker" - and he was applauded.
Peter Pannu has been in Hong Kong for the last week, so what do you want him to do, or Even Chris Hughton?
Tell us everyday how much money we have, how much we've reduced our debt?
We have £30-40 million to make up. They've told us that. Do you want them to repeat it everyday?
We've raised about £12 million. We have £16 million parachute payments.
We've removed and allowed to leave 10 players on excess of £25k a week
We are getting within striking distance of nuetralising our debt, one or two - perhaps 3 more good sales and we'll be set fair. For operational and cash flow reasons, some staggered payments will help. Everything won't be up front, but the bak will see where future additional revenues are coming from.
No fire sale is what Pannu said, and, there has not been one. People need a backbone to support Blues' at this time, rather than whingeing because they're made fun of at work or in the playground.
We've got the Carling We're in Europe We are edging ever closer to a solvent and workable situation.
Isn't that good?
:D

Top post, totally agree.
How many are saying that the board should come out and say we are in deep do?
Well then clubs would be offering £1 million to buy Foster!!!!
2 million for Dann, etc
Thay would pick us off...
In Peter we trust , he has to deal with both ends, he has to deal with the CY issue and what ever that really means to the day to day cash flow, he has to deal with the HSBC calling in the loan , and he has to deal with putting a team on the pitch next year.
We all know it is difficult , we can all see we are skint, but if Pannu has to loan out Foster and Zigic, if he has to sell Dann, CJ, Ridge and Beau , then so be it , he is doing it for a reason, he is working wonders for our club , I salute the man, I have my ST's, I have my tickets to Derby and I have brought 4 shirts so far.
I want my club to survive and to me Pannu is our best bet, on the other side he has brought in a really good manager, all is not lost.
In Peter we trust..........Trough joys AND SORROWS too!!
