Quite a good read on him in the mail and to be honest I didn't realised he had played under the managers he quoted in the article.

It is certainly good news for blues in the long term just hope the current lot can adjust to their methods quickly.

Quality interview and nice to hear the senior professionals are leading by example in training.

He gave away some clues about the current squad when he said they were looking at players that would help them stamp their brand of football on the team.

All in all very happy with this appointment.

Me too.

What has struck me, very forcibly, is that first off - with Chris H we had honest appraisails post match in Cork, of players and the system. Shortcomings and where they will look to improve - without at any time degrading or embarrassing players.
With Paul T - absolute straightforwardness.

:applause:

No spin from either of them, and no "my players are hurting" diversionary cliche's that we got so often this season from Alex M.

Two very straight arrow coaches. Both hands on. Both on the ball with technique and Sports Science.

The waffle and sound-bites we got from the professional approach to PR from Steve and Alex is washed away.

Two enthusiastic, competent and serious football men here.

We may not need Calderwood. These two are in tune already.

"We may not need Calderwood"

What would be the Assistant Managers job anyway? To stand in when the manager is away?

Why not save a salary and combine the jobs of 1st team coach and Assistant Manager?
