I say yes - but lost his way a bit at Vile towards the end...although he'd fallen out with the manager i think.  Didn't do too much at Stoke either.  But if we've got Burke & Redmond out wide it could be happy days.

I know what your saying F/no8 but i think he had come to his best sell by date tbh. Weather it will be the same for him in this leage remains to be seen. The same happened to Barry Ferguson in his last 7/8 games, it can really creep up on you and there is nowt you can do to stop it lol.

Ferguson played through the latter part of the season with cracked ribs for crying out loud. I can't beleve the amount of people who have slated him for his drop in performance, most players would not have played at all.

As for Carew he would be an awsome signing.

This. **thumbup

NO, lazy, does not work hard enough.

Neither do players like Yakubu, Berbatov, Zigic etc but they can all score goals..

Would be a nice change having a striker up top who will stay up top, which we've not seen really since the cup final.

can be unplayable on his day! usually starts off well at a club then goes off the boil though

Even if he starts off well, grabs some important goals, and then goes off the boil a bit, but still contributes the odd goal, then for a bosman, it'd be worth it, especially in a position we're struggling for at the minute.

If It happens I really will be suprised tbh.

I just can't see him dropping his wages from the £50,000+ he was on at Vile to £15,000 at most here. He will either get a better offer from another Championship team or from abroad Imo.

That is strange, contradictory messages from the local media.
Unless the BBC WM guy misheard CH and he actually said we have been talking to Carew?

We'll have a better strike force this season than we have in the last 2.

I don't want him here, Dwight Yorke mk2.

Sick of seeing us linked to their cast-offs.

And you'd rather have exactly. I mean you mention Yorke but not Gardner, Ridgewell. Nothing wrong with it! KRO!!!!

if they can do a job for bcfc then its not a problem, villa always slate us for having ex players but they have heskey on their books as well as our ex ginger manager! also they tryed to sign most of our squad

With Zigic King and Jerome injured Carew would be a great replacement until they get fit! On his day he is unplayable in the prem, let alone the championship. Would be the big name that the fans have been craving for, and the board showing a bit of ambition.

And seriously? Myhill, Ridge, Gardner, Fahey, KP have all played for villa!

According to Ian Abrahams (Moose from TalkSport) who's a big West Ham fan... John Carew has been seen today at Upton Park
