Im not going to say on here who off but from someone close to the club. The chances are we will be getting more too as even when they play Benfica etc they dont fill the ground. Should be no problem getting one over there just if you want to pay stupid amounts to go haha. |

In the second qualiying round they got 4,500, it does not show how many were at the 3rd qualifying round, so it could well be true. Looks like the people that get there will get a ticket even if they have to go in the home end. |

Im sure if anyone know any of the security or police that are dealing with fans abroad can confirm this as the club has already spoken to them about this. Getting more than 600 is speculation. Im not sure how the blues will do it as im sure to friends & family half of them would go there & the rest to the proper fans. Better than splitting 257 amongst everyone though. |

Here is a post from a regular Madeira tourist who is a footie fan. (taken from the Unofficial Fans Forum) Oxford fan in peace. I am a regular visitor to Madeira and have been to two Nacional matches including a couple of weeks ago in their first prelim Europa League match. For Blues fans going, the experience will be unlike anything you have experienced in the UK. The ground is a very modern but small (two main stands but no ends) stadium complex high up in the hills abouve Funchal and accessed by a couple of very steep winding roads. Funchal is about 20 mins from the airport by cab or bus (bus services are pretty good in Madeira) and it takes about 20 mins to get to the ground from Funchal centre. I would get a cab (about Euros 15) and you may need to ask the driver to wait for you after the game to make sure you get back! The Madeirans are very friendly and the atmosphere is not at all hostile - lots of women and children. In fact, we sat in the singing section which was led by a middle aged woman with a loud speaker! There were 5000 there for the game I went to but they decided to make the game free to boost the gate. They are a decent side technically but I suspect may struggle against a high tempo, more physical English team. Players to look out for are Mateus, a quick striker; Rondon, the other striker who has just joined them; Luis Alberto, a tall decent midfielder; and Edgar Costa a skillful right sided midfielder / forward. They also have 2-3 Eastern Europeans who are quite good, esp Mihelic who is a a Slovenian international I think. Happy to take a call from Mr Hughton if he wants a scouting report! Will be watching with interest. I didn't get to the friendly at the Kassam Stadium so haven't seen you this season but expect you to see them off! Good luck for the season and happy to answer any questions for anyone going to the game. Madeira is a beatiful island so if you have the chance to stay for a few days, you should do it! |

In order to clarify all issues relating to the sale of tickets for the game C. D. Nacional - Birmingham City FC, the first leg play-off League of Europe, to compete on August 18, 2011, the Directorate of C. D. Nacional reports: 1 - Although the current regulations only allow the transfer of 5% of the capacity of the stadium to the away team, given the high demand experienced by the supporters of Birmingham City FC, was decided by the Board of C. D. Nacional that 1100 tickets will be available for the English supporters. 2 - These tickets have already been delivered to the Birmingham City FC, who will proceed with it’s sale to their fans. 3 - The rest of the stadium capacity is reserved for members and supporters of C. D.Nacional. 4 - C. D. Nacional will not sell any tickets to Birmingham City FC fans. 5 - All Birmingham City FC fans who want to watch the game at the Stadium of Madeira will have to purchase their tickets from the Birmingham City FC. |

The larger stadium in the island has 8000 seats but is currently being rebuilt and has only 6000 seats available. Moreover, it is where our rivals play and only under strong motivations we would consider to play there. Playing in the mainland is not an option because we have no supporters there. |

:LMAO: :LMAO: Yeah, shall we play the return leg at Villa Park aswell? Mannn, the selfishness of some fans on here is ridiculous. From the sensible fans, thanks for the extra tickets, im sure those who go will appreciate the magnificant, city, views, and the marvellous new stadium you have! Been there before to watch Nacional when on holiday in 2005, but wont be able to go to this one. Dont take notice of a few small minded people on here! |
