I know blues are strapped for cash but I think their are better players available either on loan or for free than some we are being linked with! We are apparently about to sign Anthony Gardner for instance whilst reading have signed khumalu on loan or bristol city about to sign boyatta from city, both younger and better than ag! Also Nile ranger, another rubbish striker! Apart from Burke and king, every other signing IMO and other players we being linked to i.e Carter, fagan, just arnet up to scratch!

We do not have the money to pay the wages of some of those loan signings. We simply have to look for players who are free and are on cheap wages.

If we are cutting our cloth to suit, it's young and hungry players we should be going for. The high profile big earners don't guarentee success, look at the impact Hleb, Bentley and Derbyshire had for us last year although on paper very good players, on grass flattered to deceive.

Gomis, Spector & Rooney are up to scratch.

Hughton has his work cut out having no chief scout to confide in and with the obvious financial restrictions to work around, his signings are bound to be hit and miss.

Keep the faith.

Spector is shocking. Literally shocking.

I work in London so obviously several West Ham fans here and they openly admit he is awful.

From what I've seen/heard, he is certainly good enough for the Championship.

At times yeah, Spector can struggle... but at PREM LEVEL.

Fact is, he's played his entire career at Prem level, so he cant be that bad really... he is good enough and experienced enough for the Championship.

Rooney looks a good addition, Gomis needs to get up to pace with the English game, but also looks a shrewd signing, Caldwell's looked very, very solid at the back (despite me not being a fan of him anywhere else before), Burke and King are top Championship players hungry for a crack at the league if they can, and Wood is a decent young prospect aswell... and Myhill's proven in the past he can be one of the top keepers in this division.

People need their expectations reigned in, we cannot spend big money, and cannot spend big wages, which means saying 'sign Boyata from Man City instead' is pointless... he'll be on a substantial contract their, in which Bristol City will have to pay a chunk of... we simply cant afford to do that at the minute, and pay a loan fee out aswell..

The three you mention cost us millions and contibuted nothing except a load of moaning in the press. I agree that "young and hungry"is the way to go. I would be looking in Div 1 for players who are good enough to step up.

I also work with a few hammers and they hated him at right back but rate him in midfield.
