I'm very interested to see how Hughton deals with these matches Thursday night and Sunday respectively.
Here's what I'm thinking at present...

Nacional...

.....................................Boaz.......................................

Carr...............Davies......................Dann.............Ridgey

.....................Spector....................Mutch......................

Redmond........................Valles.....................Beausejour

................................Wood/Rooney................................

Save Burke (he looked to be carrying a knock following full-time so a precautionary rest may be warranted), a couple of the midfielders (because we've a limited supply), and Caldwell (because Dann is the best centre half in the league) for Boro.

Boro...

......................................Boaz......................................

Spector..........Davies..............Dann (but it will be Caldwell).....Ridgey

................Fahey.............Mutch...........Gomis.................

Burke.......................Wood/Rooney.....................Beausejour

I really want Carr to lead us out Thursday, but maybe rest him on Sunday depending on how he feels.

So would I. What I meant was I'd be annoyed if we just played a 2nd team. People going are paying alot of money and deserve to see us go for it. KRO!!!!

CDnacional 0-2 BLUES

BURKE, ROONEY scorers

They don't score many goals at all. Play very similar to the way we played under Eck. I think there's gunna be 1 maybe 2 goals in it. I'd take a score draw. KRO!!!!

Not hoofball but very tight at the back and look for that one goal then shut up shop. Don't really go out of their way for the 2nd goal. Sounds familiar lol. KRO!!!!

Can't see that happening. Means too much to too many not to put out a side that's capable of winning. They'll do us proud I'm sure, and give the traveling Blues a day to remember. :kro:

I think we want to be making use of the fitter, younger players, and the foreign ones like Valles, as the climate might be a factor.

That's an excellent point... one I'd not thought of

I presume we will play a reasonably strong side. I say we will play 4-5-1. Good point raised about Valles and playing players accustomed to the weather. I think we might see Spector get his debut. Hard to predict the team and which players will be played or rested. I think we should play the same back 4 and keeper to continue getting them settled. I would raise 2 of the 3 of the three centre mids, probably Fahey and Mutch and give game time to Spector and Valles. I would leave the wingers as they are but give Redmond game time in the second half. I would play Rooney up front, hopefully can continue on his good form. So my team would be

Myhill

Carr-Davies-Caldwell-Ridgewell

Burke-Spector-Gomis-Valles-Beausejour

Rooney

Why am I not surprised that you have just posted that lmao. You wouldn't like us getting into the Europa League proper as Villa would look stupid. KRO!!!!

Something like this for europa...

Myhill

Carr- Dann- Davies-Murphy

Mutch-Spector-Fahey

Redmond-Wood-Valles

And boro will proberbly be the same as cov but with Rooney in for Wood. These are providing we don't bring in a striker btw, dought we will but you never know.

personally i would start wood at nacional, to rest rooney for boro as imo he looks way more likely to score/create goals, and let wood do all the chasing and try make something, bringing rooney later on to try push for a goal later on.

thursday
--------------- myhill
carr ----- dann ----- davies ---- ridgewell
redmond- spector-gomis-valles beasajour
------------- wood -

sunday
- myhill
carr -- davies - caldwell -- ridgewell
----- mutch - gomis - fahey
-----burke -------- murphy/beasajour if fit
---------------rooney

Something tells me, it wont be a full strength first choice 11

Can you tell us what OUR Full Strength First Choice Team Is?
:LMAO:

What we have...is really...what we have.

Bring in Asante or Redmond - drop Rooney or Burke?

Come on man, we have a squad.
Depleted in numbers, but slowly gelling...... with what we allowed through our economics.
