I know its early but I feel the league is basically open, but football is being played?

Hate to add possible pressure but with a Euro game then the bread and butter next Sun ..... dont lose, just dont lose at Boro?

Don't think any individual game is ever "that" important.

It's all about consistancy and form.

Any game, league or cup is important as winning / success breeds a winning mentality.

Our last "run" before Xmas a couple of years ago was only as good as it was because the fans, team and management started to believe that we should not be beaten by anybody.

We were nowhere near the better team on a number of occasions during that run, but actually had defenders and goalie up in their area in last 5 mins because they didn't want to lose.

We need confidence - a bit of that is worth a dozen goals a season.

1-1 tomorrow **thumbup

Not in the traditional "Live on Sky or BBC" type of way I fear

Personally all I care about is doing well enough to comfortably stay in the league, what I really care about is getting the fun and excitement back into the games, and I see progress already. Sod the prem, let's have some fun for once.

I want us to get promoted but nobody will really know what were capable of until about 10 games in. I'm just going to wait and see how the league looks then. KRO!!!!

if we get through the Europa then we will be 6 games behind by mid December. That's 18 points we will not have played for where the others have. That can only lead us to be being adrift towards the bottom.....and add a paper-thin squad to that and yopu have the perfect recipe for relegation.

Soz lads, it's a bit of realism and using my head - and not letting my heart overcome me. We need to be out of Europe.

Sorry cant agree with that. We may not get promoted but surely even with more European games we will be good enough and have a large enough squad to stay up. Ive been watching BCFC for over 30 years and have never had the chance to see them in Europe and now its here. Dont lets deny our chances to see that (modern) history being made. Id forgoe Europe not to get relegated but surely its not going to end up that dire? I expect at least 3 or 4 more players to be brought in once Dann and Co get sold off next week and unlike Dann the manager will actually be allowed to play them. Spain, France, Germany - wherever we go lets win next week and lets go and have a party for the group games!!! KRO
PS = If Euopean games postpone the league games = does it not give our strikers the chance to recover and come back strong???? Suerely an advantage given our sick list?? :blues:

exactly the point i made in another thread.

i seriously believe we should jack off the europa league and concentrate on rebuilding our squad for the next few seasons.

all that will come from a europa cup run is a backlog of league games that will leave us floundering near the bottom.

we've only missed one game and yet people are already saying it's must win because if we don't we will be at best 8 points off the top of the league. imagine how far behind we'll be by december.

a European campaign would have been nice if we had stayed up, but we didn't. we need to be realistic and decide what is more important. a bit of a jolly against minor european opponents or rebuilding our squad to launch a fresh promotion push over the next couple of seasons.

anyone who says they would rather be in the championship is quite simply deluding themselves.

Sorry but quotes like 'let's have a party in europe' really annoy me, nero fiddling while Rome burns.

It won't be a party when we are relegated due to our thin squad and having to catch up on games. I don't care about playing in Europe now we are in the championship, we should just be concentrating on being competitive in this league.

People are putting what they want (a party in Europe) before what the club needs (no European games to add extra games and injuries to the season)
