Does any one really believe that these 3 are too injured to play? How long has Zigic had to recover -nearly 6 months? Leaving them out is going to risk us losing points and the way some teams have started off, we could soon be way off the pace. Sooner they all go the better. Can guarantee they will play in the next matches for whichever club they move on to.

So you think they are not really injured, well then can you answer this querstion.
What would either the players or the club gain from pretending to be injured ?

If we can keep these 3 till january which is looking more likley by the day we could destroy this league with jerome, zigic, king and rooney.

Wouldn't be suprised to see Dann go to Arsenal soon however.

I got a feeling wolves might come in for Dann last minute?

You know what, if Dann DOES stay, then we will not only have the best back two in this league in him and Davies, but also one of the best back twos in the Premiership IMO.

We can not afford to keep Zigic but I am finding it hard to believe that an ankle injury keeps him out for 6 months.

Is there a payment clause when Zigic plays so many games that we cannot afford to pay so we don't play him?

It's a groin injury...

Didn't we leave him out last season hoping rest would cure it, but it didn't so he had surgery in the summer?

It would make no sense what so ever to not play him because of a clause which would be pittance in comparision to the money we would get from promotion.

Even 6 months for a groin injury is a no no as far as I am concerned. I don't think he wants to play for us and we can't seem to offload him.

I don't believe Dann is injured, I believe we're protecting our most profitable asset. The board must be desperate for Arsenal, Liverpool, or anyone to make any kind of bid for him.

Cam and Ziga are recovering, though it does seem a bit odd that both will reportedly be available around the time the transfer window closes.

You do not put injured players on the bench = Dann is not injured!
He is there with a for sale sign hanging around his neck.

Dont know about the other 2. They are probably injured but as each week passes one does start to wonder how these minor injuries are keeping them out for so long. Its kind of strange .................

Zigig has had hip & groin problems and has undergone an operation since we came back for pre season.
Dann travelled to Maderia so no probs with his fitness. I imagine the club just dont want him or jerome to get injured in case a bid comes in.

CHRIS Hughton last night insisted that he hasn’t felt any pressure from the top to move out any of Blues stars.
And he revealed that both he and the board would be happy if the transfer window shut and Scott Dann, Cameron Jerome and Nikola Zigic were still at the club.
That trio are the most in demand, although there has been more rumour and speculation than actual concrete offers into St Andrew’s for them.
“I haven’t felt any pressure financially,” said Hughton. “But I am conscious that if the players go, they will go because of financial reasons.

I put up a thread similar to this and it landed up in the dustbin. I dont mind the thread landing up in the dustbin but I would appreciate if the adminstrators could have explained why. I felt it was fair criticsm myself.

Back to your op. I do accept some injuries are notoriously difficult to sort out and given the physical stress a professional footballer puts on his body they will break down again if they arent fully fit.

However I do feel that sometimes players have a serious amount of time off then start playing again but they still disappoint fans. It's as though injury is an excuse for them not playing and not having to contribute. It isnt the footballer's fault if he is injured BUT... imo they should be doing everything 150% to get fit and once fit should be tearing the manager's door down to get a game and then tearing the opposition apart once they get a game.

We are beginning to languish in this league and 3 of our top strikers are looking on the sidelines. When and if they ever play in a Blues shirt we expect performances and we expect goals. They are being paid money for goals not to sit on their backsides and physiotherapy. So they had better man up and do what they are paid for and score.

Maybe in the premiership they werent quite up to standard but in this league they can compete. So compete they should and that means goals. We want and expect wins and we are relying on these players to get out of the sick bay and do what they are under contract to do.

Come On Blues
