There is was drinking my pint this evening thinking what interesting owners we have had at Blues over the past 40 odd years. The current predicament is nothing new.

Coombs and Wheldon made a mess of things, the Kumars got themselves in a mess ... and now we have Yeung. Blues aren't alone, footballs full of these 'characters'.

The only board that didn't do us down were Sullivan and the Golds.

And if you think of the comparative luck the bums (in terms of ownership) from b6 have had compared to us its no wonder they are the bigger club.

I would love to get some serious owners. No club that bears the second city's name should be playing second fiddle to a suburb. We could easily eclipse those cretins. And it pains me to see us where we are.

Of course we could. Easy.

Realistically, the midlands hasnt had a top club.

You look at it, and most places have had a top club in the last 15 years or so.

Leeds had a spell, Newcastle did, Manchester has 2, London has 3, and us, the second city, are crying out for it.

With the city we have, and the potential fanbase, you look at the diverse culture in Birmingham, and we could go and get a Chinese, Japanese, Asian, bloody Smurf, with a load of money, and we could easily become a TOP club over time.

We carry the name of the city for heavens sake, I cant think of any places where a club isnt the biggest that has the citys name in, apart from London obviously.

The only one that really comes close is Everton to Liverpool, but even then they are a mile off.

Really frustrates me that we are a smaller club in our own city.

Its like that kid you hated a school comes over and you're wife and kids love him and think hes great.

Ken Wheldon (rip) far from making a mess of things restored financial stability to a business that was dead in the water, he sold onto the Kumars who like CY were novices in running a football club.
Coombes the younger had made a real mess of the club and was very lucky not to have ended up personally bankrupt as the club was in a black hole when he sold (for 1p!!!) to Ken.
Sully bought the club for £10 alledgedly and sold it for £81 million eighteen years later while being at the helm while we went from third division to prem!
With the best will in the world I cannot think that we will have get another owner with his business acumen!!!

Football has changed so much in recent years that it would be unfair to compare the current ownership to previous regimes.

The level of money being pumped into the game at the top end means that it is a tough industry for any businessman, no matter how experienced.

It's easy to criticise the current owners for not spending but look at the rest of the Championship, apart from Leicester (who aren't exactly pulling up trees) no team is really spending big at this level.

far from criticising, i am blaming the owner for overspending, that is what has led to our predicament
Zigic, Hleb, bentley martins Jiranek darbyshire all on large wages and in the league none of them did enough to keep us up!
That pile cost us north of 200k PER WEEK!!! Thats a shocking waste by anyones standards.

Yeah, but if they hadn't of spent the money they'd be pulled apart of here.

Spend = criticism
Don;t spend = Criticism

How can people blame the board for overspending, when McLeish was the guy that bought these waste of spaces into the squad.

Fair enough, he can spot a good defender, but his midfield and striking selections have been truly abysmal. I think thats being kind.

He could find decent center midfielders, it was the wingers and strikers where he failed miserably.

Fair point, he could find a CM, just attacking wise he was absolutely dreadful.

I still dont get the Barry Ferguson hype, he was a good consistent player, but he was hardly a game changer...

Burke didn't play under McDefence.... We all know he would never have started this well under McBoring.

Beausejour had maybe two good games last year, but surprise surprise he was hardly played. Much like Zigic when he was fit.
