As I have said on another post, I do not want this lad any where near St Andrews, poor attitude, a poor trainer, poor scoring record, not just for the Newcastle 1st team but the reserves.
I know CH has worked with him before and must see something in him, but I would rather give Jervis a chance than bringing in this lad.

echo this 100 percent

We've had people like this before though (who the hell was Jermaine Pennant before we signed him, aside from a guy on the tag) and it's worked out well :lager:

For a young player trying to make an impression on the game hes done nothing but make mistakes.

Would rather us go after Lukaku if there is any substance in that.

i normally give people the benefit of the doubt.. but with this guy i don't want him to come here.

I agree i'd rather see Jake Jervis given a go ahead of this ranger... but hughton's persistence in trying to sign ranger makes me think that this will probably happen :(

I have a feeling they may allow him to leave on loan only until Janaury with a view to a permanent move with a fee being pre agreed

Newcastle are trying to reduce their wage bill....they are not the 'Rich Big Club' they were ten years ago or even six years ago ......they have had to tighten their belts and their fans are starting to protest at the lack of investment even though they bought in a hefty 35 million for Andy Carroll plus they offloaded Barton and Enrique

Thank God McLeish isn't here

If he signed this lad, his formations would mean Nile would become

'The Lone Ranger'

I'm not sure if I have ever read a story about him in a red-top newspaper which doesn't use that joke.

Can't see him being allowed to leave Newcastle. They haven't ever replaced Andy Carroll and were trying to get Bryan Ruiz or Papiss Cisse on deadline day.

Ranger was getting chances even when they did have Carroll. Unless he has a falling out with Pardue I don't see it happening.

so you are suggesting nile ranger has no talent? yet you would rather see jervis play instead?
some fact we should take into account maybe, nile 'no talent' ranger has played in the premiership, jervis has been out on loan to league 1/2 teams and struggled to score and sometime struggled to get into the team.
dugarry had a rather average goal scoring record for france yet he was a regular and won a world cup? scoring goals isnt everything, peter crouch scores low every year yet hes a handful and is always playing for spurs, ive seen ranger a few times and i think hes a decent player he holds the ball up well.

personally id rather see a fast eye for goal striker come in as i think ranger will be too similar to rooney/wood/zigic in the fact he play with his back to the goal

Agreed. Why I we looking for another striker of that type unless Wood is going back and a seond loan striker is planned as well?

Still, its for CH to call - and he has done a good job so far in v difficult circumstances.

I think ranger probably offers more than rooney, zigic and wood in that he is quite pacy.

Lets get him is what I say.

He's turned 20 only four months ago. Am I the only one that finds it absurdly shortsighted to make an absolute determination he's rubbish-as many here have done-over a player so young?

I'll say it again... At this same age, Andy Carroll had roughly the same amount of matches, goals, troubles, potential, and backing from supporters. One full season of starts in the Championship changed his fortunes (and Newcastle's), and it was all done under the watchful eye of one Chris Hughton... Chris would be the person to know what Nile is capable of, and if he believes this player (Nile Ranger) could help Blues, we should support that full stop.

My Opinion............simple

For me Ranger as not shown anything to prove he can cut it even in this league, ask any Newcastle supporter, so in my opinion, if Ranger was an option I'd rather give Jervis a chance

Yes again he is in trouble, leave him at Newcastle to rot, would perfer to see us get Wood here for longer, better attitude and better prospect IMO
