Tbh I completely trust Hughton's judgement if we were to go for him in january i'd be ok with it, and maybe he thinks he can tame him but like Pennant and Bruce.

Back on the radar...

Mixed comments from Toon fans underneath the article.

Quote:

NILE Ranger is back on Birmingham's radar. The troubled striker is desperate to escape the North East and advisors hope a loan move to the Championship - with the promise of more first-team football - will get him back on the straight and narrow.

And the Chronicle can reveal his agent Nick Rubery will meet with Blues boss Chris Hughton this week in an attempt to persuade him to take a chance on his former striker Ranger.

Ex-Newcastle boss Hughton needs some reinforcements to help maintain his team’s push for the play-offs and wanted to take Ranger earlier in the season, only for Newcastle to block the move. They want the player to leave permanently. United’s board are still reluctant to allow him to go out on loan but boss Alan Pardew is now pushing for a temporary move after concluding that the striker needs to leave Newcastle to avoid any further problems.

Hughton has noted the player’s legal problems and will need to be convinced that Ranger will be fully focused on his football, but the striker enjoyed his best spell under the former United boss.

Ranger is back in first-team training at St James’ Park but has only been in the first-team squad once this season – in the Carling Cup clash at Blackburn last month.

That he is being lined up to replace Chris Wood.

Hope I'm wrong.

Don't be too hasty. CH might make a silk purse out of him.

Colin Tattum put on Twitter yesterday that Ranger Is unlikely to join Blues before the November loan deadline.....

That being said, In the time between November and January I think Hughton will find a better and more deserving talent than him......

Lets hope that's the case. I am not a big fan of Ranger and the problems that go with him
