Lovenkrands; ...could be an option

Just an idea and wanted to share my thoughts....

With the potential loss of Big Zig in January and the apparent failure, or longer than expected settling period, of Rooney I was wondering if Lovenkrands could come in and do a job.

Hes a proven goal scorer at this level and would get on well at Blues because he's a grafter on the pitch. Maybe a small fee for a 6 month loan deal with the option to take him permanently (for free) should we go up or want to take him after that?

With Chris Hughton's links with Newcastle I could see this one happening.

One thing will stop signings like this, even short term or loans. Wages!

It's a case of getting big wage earners off our books and not replacing them with other big wage earners. I'm afraid we are still going to have to be very frugal for a time. :(

Oh yeah, Sorry - I keep forgetting about the dire financial straights the majority share holder has brought upon us < <

Longer than expected settling in period of Rooney?

He's settled in well as far as I was concerned?

I'm not sure why he's not proved to be successful so far, I was making an assumption he wasn't quiet up to speed yet. Not so much settled at the club, more settled into the league.

I'm not slating the player. Just basing what I said on his goal return and minutes on the pitch.

He's been disappointing with his finishing, but strikers need a run of games and he hasn't had that. With Wood King and Zigic he has barely started in the league, and has then been thrown in the deep end against some of Europe's top sides.

While i too expected more, he needs to be given a proper chance before we judge him. Nikola Zigic anyone?

Lovenkrands to Blues is a great idea **thumbup . Sadly I can't see it happening though. He'd be great with his pace & Euro experience. Scored many vital goals for us in the Champs League. A yes from me

McLeish looked at Lovenkrands a while back before he eventually went to Newcastle. Seem to recall wages were a problem even then - and those were the good old days!!!

I don't think he will ever get "up to speed".

He is the only player I know that whether he is jogging or sprinting he run's at the same speed :D

I think he is rightly 4th choice striker at the moment, I thought it was a mistake against Brighton taking Wood and King off for Rooney and Zigic straight away, I would have left either Wood or King on with Zigic for a while as, not sure why, I just never have the feeling that Rooney can have much impact on the game off the bench.

Not writing him off, I believe he has been brought here to be developed and was a bit of a cheap gamble. I wouldn't be suprised to see Asante overtaking him in the pecking order.

Agree with that entirely. :applause:
