It's on Tribal aswell.

To be honest, Blues should tell anyone interested to go **** themselves. Repeatedly. Up the bum. With a marrow.

Why take £1m for him now when we can pay his cheap wages for a couple of years, let one of the best goalkeeping coaches in the country work his magic on him and then either use him as our first choice or sell him for 5 times the current quoted figure?

Butland

Not surprised Brucie after Jack. Should we try to keep him at all costs?

our Academy has finally produced 1,2 or maybe 3 gems
to sell them now and for a pittance would be reason to close the academy altogether..

If we had solvent and savy owners; like we used to have, we wouldn't even be discussing this.
As it is, with this joke of a hairdresser in charge ( not ) anything is possible.
I don't think January will bring much good news for Bluenoses.

I think it just goes to show how financially desperate Yeung is.

He doesn't care about a few years time, it is now when he needs to money.

another poor thread that feeds the frenzy

why it is a poor thread? - other than for the fact its doubled up as I didnt see the original one on Butland (apologies).

seeing as there are loads of reports that both of our (better) goalies are being bid for then its a perfectly valid question asking if we are going to hang onto them or not.

If mines feeding a frenzy then what does the original one do?

Lowds any sale is cash for BCFC not for CY...you are intelligent enough to know he isnt dipping into the St Andrews tills. The pathetic figures being quoted are what annoy me...if the story had read that Bruce was looking at Butland and the fee would be £5 million plus then honestly if that paid the wages of our players ( Zigic aside) for the reast of the season then that is what we would have to do,but not before trying everything else first.

Sheer madness to sell him at anywhere near that price.

In a few years time we would have to pay out much more than that for a keeper, possibly not half as good.

Surely we ain't that hard up as to seek such short-termism ?

:break: how exactly does this show how financially desperate Yeung is? No bid has been accepted. No bid has been submitted (probably).

1 million might not seem like much for Butland, but if he is sold I can't see him going for much more. Do any of you here really think anyone's going to risk around 5 million for an unproven 18 year old English goalkeeper from BCFC?

De Gea was playing first team football for At. Madrid in the Uefa Cup, winning the Uefa cup and super cup. You can't really compare their careers.

Therefore I think our best option is to keep hold of him, the reason being that we aren't going to be able to sell him for anything over 2.5 million, and he has the potential to be a really impressive player, and i think keep loaning him out every season, to a slightly better club every season, is the best option to develop him.

Sort of agree, yes de gea had a season behind him , but let in more goals from distance than any other keeper in the league!!!

A classic case of the big 4 needing the latest fashion item, it has proven very quickly that de gea although may have great potential, he is no where near ready for manures 1st team,,,,,,, I would say 15 million over the top paid on the basis he is not english.

The best keepers like butland, foster, green, fielding, etc can hope for ib bottom half prem. Hart is the only english keeper since seaman who as bucked that trend.

Butland and players like redmond are money in the bank for blues, he is keeping a keeper who is no 1 choice in the championship out of the under 21s at the moment.

he as just signed a contract so we need 5million and 50% sell on anything less IF this is correct will show how bad our position is.......
