Serbia (with Nikola as Captain) suffered two defeats against Mexico and Honduras -on their Internation Friendly break.

Both 2-0.
Zigic was devastated and this is a rough (very rough) translation of his comments after the Honduran match.

Nikola Zigic:

- Tried to raise after the Mexican ... But, then again early goal we were upset ... I had a few chances, it was naked, and unfortunately I missed a few chances ... During the break and tried to arrange something, to move better, but we promašivali opportunities that we have hardly come ... You need to forget this, confidence is all the way down, the lot should be changed ... We wanted to win, tell us something positive happens after Italy, Slovenia, Mexico ... This will be hard to forget ... In a remarkable career, I experienced the successes and failures in qualifying after that, I believe that we are wise we will now find a solution and way out of crisis ...

Serbia have a caretaker manager, so I'm not sure about the politics/motives going on. < <

Either way both Nikola and Jean have had a depressing and unfortunate International week.
(Chile thrashed 4-0 by Uruguay after 'Christening-Gate' when the manager dropped Jean and others).

Hope they get their heads sorted by Saturday.

I'm sure they'll be raring to go against Peterborough United.

I fear...that with Ziggs being made Captain, Jean being scapegoated - both will be really down.

However, having read your signature, acjboyle friend, I think I might be a bit too pessimistic.

Optimism comes hard, to most bluenoses though.

Thanks for your sig.

Perhaps the game time, for those that thought he needed it, will do Zig some good and he will come back match fit and raring to go.

Perhaps the lack of game time, and the rest that some thought he needed it, will do Beau some good and he will come back rested and raring to go.

I would miss a few chances if I was naked, I'd be way too embarrassed.

Chile aint been the same since they got rid of Marcelo Bielsa

Serbia with all their players, Krasic, Subtotic, Vidic, Ziggy etc should be doing a lot better

If Zigic is their best striker, I think I know why Serbia aren't doing very well.

i think it would be better to play the players who have had a hard time on internationals, sometimes when it isnt going right for players they just want to get playing again and get their form back. might not work that way but something for chris to think about...
