I couldn't get to the match yesterday but listened to it on BRMB now whenPosh had their freekick Ross and Bomber both said that they hoped Myhill had the top corner covered as they could tell from the way the Posh player was shaping up that that was where it was going and sure enough thats where it went. Now my question is if they saw it then why didnt the managment and get the team sorted ready?

The wall was covering that side of the goal..Myhill ready for anything if it went the other side. To me, everything was lined up correctly but sometimes you just have to hold your hands up and say what a goal - it was right in the top corner.

Myhill was way too far over. Most dead ball experts try to put it into the corner just over the wall, you could see it coming from where I was sitting in the kop. Dont know why keepers don't just stand in the middle giving them more chance to get over their goal

He needs to be able to see the ball from where it is kicked. The argument is whether a wall is always necessary or a smaller one. 9/10 the kicker won't get the right spot so the wall is there as protection for the miskicks that could go through. I'd like to see a team that places the players on the line post to ost with the keeper in front of them.

players on the line? are you mad? if we have defenders on the line then the defending line will be pretty much on the goal line obstructing the players on the line regardless

Your reply no sense at all. Don't call me mad.

If anyone is to blame for that goal it's Beausejour, he gave the ball away cheaply then conceded the free-kick with a clumsy challenge on the edge of the box.

He has cost us goals in the last two home games now, fortunately he's playing an important role in attack too, though his reluctance to shoot at times is a hinderance.

If defenders are on the line then so are the attackers which means the kick taker can just aim it at their players on the line who will block any defenders getting anywhere near it.

It was a beautifully struck free kick, such is life. Had Myhill been stood in the middle of the goal then McCann had two sides to choose from.

Murphy smacked the bar against Brugge from a similar angle, by going across the goalkeeper. Myhill challenged McCann to be able to find that one spot where he could score, and he did. Just part of the game.

Could have had two goal keepers in the net and that would still have gone in

If Myhill had covered the right hand corner then the guy might have have been tempted to put the ball in the left hand corner which seems like a very sneaky tactic to me. Fella the day you start giving an arch clot like Ross more credibility than our manager is a dark day indeed.

teams never do that because it means all opponents are onside and in great position for rebound. Great freekick! problem was the way beausejour sloppily conceeded possesion and then committed a foul which was inches away from being a penalty!!
