When the transfer window shut, CH did mention using the loan market to bring in some players.

Are we really that skint that we can't do this?

Very frustrating when the likes of Portsmouth are signing Thorne/Mattock from WBA, Doncaster are bringing in new players on a daily basis etc

Up until now, we have been pretty fortunate with injuries and I hope that remains the case. When does the loan window shut and will we bolster our squad at all?

It seems that everytime I look at SSN there is a loan deal going through.

CHRIS Hughton has explained why Blues did not make a splash in the loan market.

The window for temporary Football League transfers shut last night and the Blues boss maintained a watching brief.

“At this moment if I look at the squad it is very competitive,” Hughton stated.

“You just hope that in three weeks time you don’t end up having a couple of injuries and struggling in some positions.

“But you can only make judgments at a particular time and at this particular time we have got good competition for places.

“And generally with anybody you are going to bring in on loan, there’s never any guarantees to play.

“If a club does allow you to take a player, it’s on the assumption that they’re going to play some games and I think you’ve got to be able to do that.

“Probably at this moment there’s not the players available who you could half-guarantee games to.”
