Just to let you all know...

I live in Swansea and obviously Villa are playing the Jacks tomorrow.

Well just now I was walking home after a staff night out and what would you know! 20 or so blues fans were walking through the city centre singing '!"£$ on the villa'!! As a blues fan I felt it was my duty to join in the chanting as I was walking past and asked one of the girls who was in the group 'are you a bluenose'. She returned 'yes, there's not many around us here'. This then ended with a hug and a high five.

How brilliant is that, I was shocked and now truly believe that we are conquering the world. What a proud moment this was. I had to share this.

For us "ex-pats" it is one of those life's great moments when you bump into a fellow bluenose....and you are right - you have to go up and talk to them.

Me and a fellow board member were talking about this the other day.

He lives in South Birmingham and was saying that it's no big deal to see another Bluenose.

The same can be said for the city centre in my opinion.

I on the other hand live in West Birmingham and I have to say that EVERY time I see a Bluenose, we always acknowledge each other. Kind of like a "we're in this together and gotta look out for each other" way.

I actually have two good mates who have lived in Swansea for years, in fact I attended both of their weddings down there a long time back .....One is a Villa fan but the other one is more into Rugby and doesn't really have much interest in football.....He did grow up in Small Heath though

Since living in the States since the mid 90's I had to laugh one day when I was driving along a busy highway in Tampa and I was behind a carpet fitter's van that had a Beau Brummie sticker on the back :LMAO:

I've met scores of 'Noses' in Florida over the years ......Some are ex pats and others were simply on holiday ....before the advent of global and blanket TV coverage I used to go and watch games in the Brit or Irsh pubs and one time (think it was that game at Fulham in May 2008) I bumped into two Blues followers from my old neck of the woods , one from Woodgate Valley and the other lived in Northfield

One truly amazing tale of 'it's a small world' was when I found this wallet , the owner was a fellah from The Bahamas according to his ID and being a good citizen I phoned the owner to say I'd found it

His wife answered and was very relieved, she knew he had lost it and was in a bit of a state of panic and said she'd send her son around for it who was a lad in his mid 20's

When I answered the door Lo ! and Behold there was this fellah with a Blues shirt on (the Flybe edition of 2006 or so)

Of course we had a good old chat about the club and before moving to the States he had even lived just a stone's throw from St Andrews down near Bolton Road somewhere

We are everywhere

Not quite the same level but I used to work and live in High Wycombe and it was always a pleasure to bumb into a Brummie no matter what side of tje city they were from. You need to move away from Brum to understand how welcoming the Brummie accent is :-)

There are a lot of BlueNoses in Harborne as there are Bartley Green

I grew up in Quinton and I'd hazard a guess the split was 50 per cent Villa, 25 per cent Blues and 25 per cent Baggies

As you venture further out toward the Black Country (Halesowen, Dudley, Oldbury, Cradley, Merry Hill Centre etc) it becomes more simply Albion and Wolves for the most part although my mate still lives in the Oldbury/Dudley area and he is still a Nose.....not really a good example as he first lived in Great Barr but it would have been quite understandable if he had followed the Albion instead

I was using past tense with regards to Quinton

60's, 70's and 80's

Have no clue what the divide is like these days .....haven't lived in the area for 20 years or more .....as support gets passed down through generation for most families then I'd presume Villa still have the slight edge over there

As I've said though as you venture further toward Northfield, Bartley Green, Weoley Castle etc it tends to become more BlueNose

Do you live the Halesowen end or the Harborne/Bearwood/Edgbsaton end ??

I also lived in Oldbury for a short while and that was most certainly mainly West Bromwich Albion with a sprinkling of Wolves

Good on ya mate. **thumbup I go to games on the train so obviously pass through shenstone,it's depressing how few bluenoses get on the train until you get past Sutton and even then it's not many, always annoys me seeing the villa badge on the sign at Aston station,it's not like you see the blues badge at new street is it.it's just wrong!

Is Shenstone posh? I can't remember. Obviously Lichfield is, and Hopwas and those villages on the way to Tamworth. Brownhills definitely isn't posh, if my visits to Brownhills market are anything to go by. Can't remember Shenstone.

Perrycrofts, which is on the right as you leave on that road towards Nottingham. I'd live in Elford or Hopwas given the choice I think, or Kingsbury, which'd be easier for going to watch Blues.

I know what your saying about the dimbles, but my dads family were all from small heath, i've lived all over brum, i'd still prefer the dimbles to some parts of Brum!

That sign as aston station also annonys me so l usually respond accordingly!!

Keep spreading the 'blue word'
