I dont belive for one minte he is injured - I think his stupid comments to the reporter on The Football League Show was the final nail in his coffin because since that day he hasnt been seen ...other than in Victoria Sq having a few beers !!!

Just a thought !!!

Mirror

QPR have joined the chase for Birmingham’s Liam Ridgewell.

The versatile left-sided defender is set to leave in January after requesting a transfer in August.

He has West Brom, Stoke and Newcastle in the queue after all three bid for him last summer

Have we won since he was injured? Just a thought seems that our back four have not performed since his absence.

I still think he is the best left sided defender we have but Murphy is better going forward. At the moment we need to defend better so I would pick Ridgewell when fit.

Not sure my opinion matters though as I'm in no doubt that Ridgewell will be sold in January

Ridgebad should be no more than a last resort. He has always been a liability, climbing and clawing opposition players due to his lack of pace and reading of the game. His general demeanour always heightens potential booking/sending off. He gives nothing to the team that an in expierienced youngster couldn't do better.

It's not so much that Blue Kid, it's the fact that he gives away free-kicks in dangerous places.

Well i dont think he overly does that either infact he proberbly wins more free kicks than he gives away.

BE WARNED !

Long Footie Digressing thread !
Going from Ridgewell to conspiracy theories to agents to clubs to PFA protests to the mire and greed of players, agents and clubs and without reference like to 2012 and Roswell

Skip it if you are busy.I've re-read it and advise you so like.

.........................................

Ridge may not be the current Princess of Blues Fans - mainly because of his late transfer request I think.

If any of his critics try to keep up, with like - FACTUAL - Blues info - they would realise the situation.

Ridge got an injury (thigh), he was rested as per physio recommendations and as Jordan Much came back from his own setback in rehab the same week - they were both preparing for light training.

Jordan Much made the training pitch, Ridge didn't.
According to Calderwood, Ridge hasn't yet made it out onto the pitch because of the injury.

Along with many others, I expect Liam will be sold come January - but the parallels with Dann seem to be obsessing some theorists.

Too many years under Sullivan spinning, I think.
We seem to disblelieve everything honest people like Hughton and Calderwood say - because of our history under Karren & Dave - Steve & Alex!

Put it into perspective.

Dann was injured for many months. He started to come back and train on our pre-season in Ireland.

We had offers apparently, but he was still in the recovery stages and although he was on the bench for many pre-season matches, the club knew he would be going, so,.... better to sort out the stayers and organise around those who 'might' be here come the of end of August.
That's sensible.

If it was a conspiracy because we'd already sold Dann - why take him? - Why train him ? - New management needs to work with the players they anticipate keeping.
Dann trained, kept fitness, passed a medical,no need for a 'shop window match' with offers already in. **thumbup

Ridge's situation is quite different.

He is injured. He hasn't made the training pitch at Wast Hills, whereas Jordan has.

Jordan's rehab has overtaken Liam's. Which is good for us.

Imo, Liam will go in January. I won't be bothered like

But, he hasn't been sold yet, he isn't in cotton wool till January.

This is The Theory and the comparison to Dann, which unites the conspiracy and anti-Hughton brigade.

The guy is injured, and it is upto Blues to get him fit and saleable ASAP.

4 clubs in for him ?

He has the same agent as Stevie Carr, and you can surely-shirley remember that agent's last-week-window tweeting and leaking about his two big stars having big offers.

Liam believed his agent and put in a last minute transfer request - imo

Stevie Carr didn't.

-----------------------------------

Other ways of looking at things.

This has got nothing to do with Ridgewell.

Just old years, new years recollections from reading too many footie "exposure" books

In year's past, some clubs have absolutely refused a transfer of alleged millions for star players.

McDonald from Newcastle. Le Tiss from his 'favourite club', Owen (from Newcastle again), Claridge, Merson, Mutu (?) and another player from villa whose name escapes me at the moment like but he had a drink problem on top of debts :LMAO:

Some players, with certain addictions, gambling, drugs - even interior design - whatever, like, take loans, ON TOP OF THEIR WAGES, from their employers to pay debts that their lifestyles dictate.

The employing club needs restitution for those private loans included in the transfer costs.

Potential employers may baulk at this.

Why should Blues pay off Steve Claridge's bookie debts as part of his transfer fee ?

But Barry Fry did ( thank God) convince Sullivan to do it.
Then Steve was off again when he got further into loans with Blues and used his transfer fee to try and clear the 'loans'. He did this eveywhere, transfer fee to pay bookies - it's in the book - Barry's

And we read it now, that Real and Barca won't meet certain player's wage demands.
Why?

Bobby Moore could have gone to Everton or Man Utd, but for his 'club debts' being added on to his transfer.Which they refused to pay on some morality grounds.Bookies and 'East End debts'

Systematics:

Many clubs loan, gazillions, to players. The best way of getting that money back is by deducting from wages, and keeping that player 'on the books' - whilst they reclaim the dosh from his wages. Unless a suitor is going to pay it all off.

They loan money in advance because they deduct it off the wages and take interest off the loan as well --- most sudden high earners, wannabes and one season stars all sign these contracts, and grab £100k now believing that quite easilly they can repay it. Get the dosh now like, buy a car, get a WAG.

Don't matter that the club don't pay you a year in advance - they loan you a year in advance, and charge interest.
Gotta love it like - players and agents leap at it.[ Does the agent pay interest on his advanced fee? Or does he just take it out of the players payment, and let the player pay the interest?)

You wouldn't think there were kids that thick, would you. But there are---too many for the PFA.

The PFA (Professional Footballers Association) have been fighting these 'contracts' and 'loan deals' for years.

But if a player can go quick, from a desperate club, who knows when or where those loans from your club will be cleared? If ever.

These are reasons why some clubs hang on to players.

Did I mention Fabregas ? (Real blog - quite amazing ! :D )

ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH ANY CURRENT BLUES PLAYER

Just boring old stuff I read. OK **thumbup

lets not forget the huge amount of mistakes Ridgewell made over the years whilst playing centre half.
Sadly his attitude has been awful, I think even if he wanted to stay the board would sell in January, so it matters not a jot really what our opinions are, or his for that matter, the board will cash in.
