Sounds good. Burke certainly needs a rest. Also Mutch and Gomis played well together at the start of the season, so use Thursday to pair them up again.

Maybe it would be a better idea to have Mutch on the bench and bring him on in the event Brugge are comfortably ahead?

Is Carr afraid of flying? He always seems to pick up a niggle just before a European tie but is fine again by the weekend.

adamneaves, that's a great call about having Butland in goal as he has finished his loan spell. :applause:

Why not? It will be a good competitive game without the pressure of it being a league game. Besides, I just don't think Doyle is good enough and it would give Myhill a break, but Myhill should be on the bench.

Tell fans that Butland will start and it will bring a few more through the gates. **thumbup

It was just a general query about the away games.

I say - play the strongest team possible. We don't play Palace until Monday so there's plenty of time to recupperate.

Kings on a roll - Play him whilst he's hot
Burke - Tore them apart in Slovenia so must play in my opinion.

We don't want to be in the heartbreaking position of Braga helping us out and us unable to win because we put out an under strenght team !

This may well be our last ever European game - lets go out all guns blazing and you never know !

I'd go 4-4-2.

I'd play Carr if he can go again, id play Burke, id bring Beausejour back in down the left, start Zigic and King upfront and partner N'Daw with Fahey/Mutch/Gomis in the middle of the park. Ensure Redmond is on the bench, Butland too, aswell as maybe even Akwasi Asante just for the experience (if he's fit)

We have to use our best possible combination for this game.

All we can do is go for the win - we've got to do our bit then cross our fingers. Who knows if we'll ever get another chance to play in Europe.

Yeah, that looks pretty good. If Ridgewell needs game time I'd give him a run out.

I'm surprised at all the changes above...? Yes he's done a lot in the past, but we have a 4 day break before Palace, so I'm expecting a similiar team to Saturday, with maybe 2 or 3 changes tops.

Doyle

Carr
Davies
Caldwell
Murphy

Burke
N'Daw
Fahey
Elliot

King
Zigic

Bring on... Perm 3 from Redmond, Wood, Mutch, Beaus, Rooney, Ibanez, Spector, Gomis as the game progressses.

Why give Butland, Ridgewell

I honestly don't think Colin Doyle is good enough. He's a likeable, loyal player but scares me with his goalkeeping ability. I feel it should be either Myhill or Butland in goal

We should have allowed Colin to leave in the summer, rather than insisting on the extra year. He will be ok in Divs 1 or 2, but not the Championship.
