...We win on Thursday and either of Braga or Brugge win? Will we go second or finish third? Europa confuses me, last time all 3 of us were level on points, Brugge was top we were second and Braga were third despite us beating Brugge and losing to Braga  |

The only way we go through is if we beat maribor and braga win in brugge we would finish second |

I'm trying to find this out myself but can't find the rules anywhere but some people tell me it goes by head to head results. Brugge are top at mo as even tho goal difference is not as good as braga they have taken more points off them than braga have taken from brugge. But if braga win on Thursday then they will have more points and go top. blues then need to win to have same points as brugge. BUT we have taken more points from brugge than they have from us. We won them and drew other time. Therefore we go above them leaving us 2nd and qualify. :-) anybody correct me if I'm wrong please.. |

You've just said exactly the same as the post above - but taken twice as long about it. **thumbup |

If we win we go second, That is if Braga win. We will go through over Brugge on head 2 head results(goal difference doesn't count in europa) So it is a must for Blues and Braga to win, anything else we're out. |

We BEAT them **thumbup Any other help needed, I'm glad to help  :fishing: .................But, as previously stated, we need to win and Brugge need to lose. It is definately on head to head, not GD etc if points the same. I've got a horrible feeling that Braga will win and we'll not manage to win our game though - I'd be gutted!! :( |

Teams level on points are separated by: 1) Higher number of points obtained in the group matches played between the teams level on points 2) Superior goal difference from the group matches played between the teams level on points 3) Higher number of goals scored in the group matches played between the teams level on points 4) Higher number of goals scored away from home in the group matches played between the teams level on points 5) If two or more teams are involved, and points 1) to 4) have produced two teams who are still level, points 1) to 4) are reapplied solely to matches between those two teams. If the teams remain level points 6) to 8) apply 6) Superior goal difference from all group matches 7) Higher number of goals scored in all group matches 8) Higher number of coefficient points accumulated by the club in question, as well as its association, over the previous five seasons |

Whatever happens, it should be a great night for you guys lucky enough to be going to the match. At least it isn't a 'damp squib" game. We just have to win and then we can worry about Braga doing the business. I happen to believe we will be in the hat tomorrow. Have to get up at 3am to watch on ESPN, but I'm used to that living in the far east, with my Bluenose mascot statue on the gatepost. Good luck to every Bluenose. Currently it is 33 degrees here, but I know you will have to wrap up tonight. Mind you, I doubt you will care when we win 3-1. KRO **thumbup |
