The Doncaster Chairman says Billy sharp can leave in Januray for £3 million.
He's a good player and would replace Chris Wood as a goalscorer when Woody leaves.

A £3 million investment that could very well propel us to a £60 million pay out....sounds like it's worth the risk!

*NB this could be why my career as an owner never took off

He'd be a great signing but we can't afford him.

I'd prefer Nicky Maynard TBH but I'd gladly welcome Sharp

Who says we have no money at all ?? (even if we are forced to use the proceeds from the sales of Ridgewell, Beau and Zigic)

Why are so sure of yourselves ?? ......Do you work in the accounting department at SA ??

Maybe Blues might keep all three of them and still sign new players

Always annoys me when people sound off on a subject they know nothing about

We have to sell in January to keep us afloat throughout the season.

So the Ridgewell/Zigic/Beausejour money will go straight into that hole IMO.

Freebies and loans will be the route we'll go down, and it might be a few gambles on frees that could prove masterstrokes.

I dont really fancy either but players like Koumas/Boyd may come into consideration, and Parnaby back to replace Ridge and provide cover could also be an option

Would welcome Parnaby back with open arms, always liked him, as for the other two im not so sure, I was all up for Boyd when we were linked with him ages back, hes not a bad option to have in the championship should Zigic leave, but there has to be better options frankly, as for Koumas our midifield is strong enough tbh

They're just the three frees I could think off the top of my head.

As for Billy Sharp re. the OP, theres a rumour going round that West Ham have put a bid in for him, activating his release clause

To be fair mate, let's be honest. It seems fairly obvious that we don't have enough money to sign him.

It will be an extremely slow transfer window, even if we sell players. You're right we don't know how much money we have but in the current situation, i really can't see it being much.

I saw a Blues fan on Fb say that he'll cost £2 million or a bit lower.

Leicester apparently offered between 4-5mil for him and it was rejected. No chance of us getting him as every stated we dont have any funds to purchase anyone

according to Sky they have now accepted a bid from Leicester... doesn't mean he'll go and could mean other clubs matching that offer.

Yes, he hasn't signed for Leicester yet

Doncaster are trying to persuade him to stay with them with an improved contract
