Palace fan in peace.

Firstly, a good game the other night. Thought we were lucky to come in at 0-0 at half time but deserved a goal second half and shaded it overall, but maybe a draw would have been fair. Credit to the few hundred or so who made it down for a cold wet Monday night when its on sky. And how is Carr still that quick ? Thought Redmond looked dangerous but Clyne is premiership bound and showed it against him.

You may or may not have seen our protest when the players came out:

This is something that affects all teams outside of the premier league and is so ridiculously shortsighted that something needs to be done by all fans. Basically it means that the premier league can rip off every other club for their young players at a fraction of their worth and put academies, and therefore every club that relies on them in serious trouble. More information here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/paulfletcher/20...s_in_favou.html
If all the teams in the football league can get behind this, we just might make a difference. If not then I shudder to think what would happen.

I dont know if you guys have an academy, although im sure most clubs must have, but we'd be very grateful for your support. You can make a real difference by getting this out there and getting people to sign the petition - if we get enough it will make it into parliament:

Either way cheers, and good luck for the rest of the season (apart from one game)

Good luck, creno. It's sickening isn't it that the super rich clubs of the Premiership see fit to bully everyone with their power and despite having everything their own way it seems that there is never enough. I read recently of a group of Wolves fans who are as peed off as you seem to be and I think it might be an idea if fans of various clubs get together to make their feeling known by forming some kind of network.

Certainly most football fans are thoroughly reactionary but there is a small but growing number angry with the concentration of power in the hands of the few. I'm tired of paying massively over the odds to watch my team, I'm tired of being told I must sit down at a football match and I'm sick to death of non entities earning a kings ransom in exchange for a little token badge kissing.

I'd like some further information on your group so please p.m me and let's discuss how we can foment creative dissent in footballing circles. It won't be easy- there is so much apathy out there but we need to make a start. The plutocrats can go to hell as far as I'm concerned- long live football for the people!

I think I have sent you a p.m. but I'm new to this forum and it doesn't seem to say anywhere that I have sent anything. Let me know if you get it.

I have it, creno, and thanks for your time and effort. I'll be looking at the links you posted and will be happy to add my support to any progressive group whose desire it is to undermine the footballing status quo. Cheers and good luck.

I'm actually for a more structured and elite training of the talented pool of kids that we produce in this country as so many fall through the net and if this set up enables these kids to get the 'best' academy tutoring.

BUT... this is the lifeblood of so many clubs that use the 'develop and sell' business model that it could be mean we will see more and more clubs go to the wall in future, so for that point...

Petition signed.

Thanks for bringing attention to this Crenol. First I saw of it. We should all be doing our bit to spread the word.

How many signatures do we actually need for it to go to parliament?

This is just another way for the current Premier League clubs to stay in the elite. Smaller clubs rely on big transfer fees for their promising players or alternativly developing these players to get and keep them in the elite. If this is taken away how can smaller clubs get into the premier league and stay there?! I remember not long ago there was some sort of talk about teams not being able to get relegated from the premier league, this is the exact same thing but in a different form. Disgusting!

Signed.

We need 100,000 for it to go to parliament. Seems a long way off but if you think how many football fans there are it could be possible. Also, if it gets on the front page of petitions (20,000 odd signatures) then the media are likely to pick up on it.

Football League should man up and put pressure on Premier League to give some more of it's wealth to make English football stronger throughout. Sky should play it's part too.
