Trouble At Millwall?; Will I be safe?

Going to this game with my mate Holmsie and we're a little concerned.

There was a thread on here a few mins ago by some thug talking about his plans to meet the Millwall lot on the way to the gound for a bit of trouble, and then maybe even invade the pitch?

Is there a genuine chance of trouble at this match? Mrs F was considering coming with us but is now thinking twice. What extra precautions can we take to avoid getting hurt?

get off at the right tube station as advised, go along the walk way straight in to the ground and you wont see a milwall fan until in the ground where a heavy police presence will look after you!

ignore the advice and go your own way and anything can happen!

we came in from the opposite way a few years ago and got caught up in a bit of bother, however nothing as bad as in previous years!

This is what I was saying to Holmsie. He's intent on walking it from Peckham, as we're nipping there beforehand.

Hopefully the previous thread starter was only kidding. But he was talking about being "firmed up" and using all kinds of other threatening terminology.

I wouldn't advise it, you met get lucky and get no hassle, but walk past the wrong group and they will say something! have a few in London then jump the tube to London bridge and then the overground! should be hassle free that way

good luck kro

I take the no brummie accent and no team colours approach and pretend not to be a football fan approach. Walked straight past and through some police blockades works a charm with no trouble ever. Ever

Went there for the cup game a year or so ago? They keep us in the top tier so it would be a bit difficult to get on the pitch lol. Wasn't really any aggro then and they kept us in the coach park for a while after the game so can't see anything going down anywhere near the den.
Should be a good trip but keep your wits about you if you're walking from peckham.

Also planning to have another sing-song on the tube, and then head to the beautiful borough of Tower Hamlets for a cheap curry after the game. All Bluenoses are welcome to join.

Millwall youth should already know that the Hammersmith & City line is Blues territory.

If I were you I would go from ldn bridge just to avoid any unecessary hastle. Ldn bridge is good for the pubs and borough market is worth checking out if only for something to eat & drink.

You won't get into any trouble around there as it is used by lots of tourists and day visitors so very difficult to single out as football fans.

Now coming from peckham is far trickier especially if you don't know exactly where your going. Nearest stations to the den excluding the one built for away fans are surrey quays, new cross gate & elephant & castle. South bermondsey is the closest you can do it by overhead train perhaps even from peckham. I would catch the bus from peckham if you choose not to do ldn bridge.

Trouble with that is that if you ask Dell Boy or Rodders for directions you'd have to buy some dodgy goods from them

And if you get lumbered with Trigg you'll end up at Selhurst Park

just be careful, on the way to the ground, keep yourself to your self, say nothing and sing nothing until you get to the ground, then sing your hearts out for the lads. :kro: maulley,
