I did see an enormous number of police with dogs at least a dozen riot vans plus a helicoptor overhead escorting no more than 40 dingles straight down the centre of digbeth high st. Gis a job, i could do that :) |

Before the game, the police tried to escort Wolves up the side street just before you get to Saab in Digbeth. All of a sudden all you heard from under the tunnel was "ZU-LUUUUUUUUU!" and the startled police quickly pushed the Wolves lot back on to the high street. They had to take them down past the Clements Arms instead. After the game, there seemed to be trouble in a few different places. There was a short but serious scuffle on the grass verge opposite the roundabout at the bottom of the Cov Rd. Punches were thrown after a few dingles started on a few Blues fans who didn't look to be causing anyone any trouble. Everyone quickly dispersed when the police started heading towards the incident with their dogs. |

No shock really. It always goes off between Wolves and Blues. I remember being caught up in quite a nasty confrontation on the bridge leading from the ringroad into Wolverhampton train station on one occasion. Think it was 2003/04. Bricks, bottles the lot were thrown. The good old days. ;) |

sorry to turn back the clock but 1st away game 1972 season at Wolves...massive trouble and seriious public disorder before and after the classic game which we lost 3.2 after being 2 or 3 down at half time. Then the trouble makers were numbered in hundreds!! Glad that has all gone away now. KRO |

The fans were mixed then, Blues and Wolves in the South Bank. We were 3-0 down at HT and lost 3-2. Des, did you go to Stoke a couple of months later? 1-0 down and won 2-1 with a Latchford brace and then it was fun and games getting back to the train station afterwards. I remember it kicking off big style in a graveyard. |

Lowds remember the stoke match well, I had grown my skinhead into some sort of Rod Stewart `Cockerill` top and was wearing those `SKINNER` masively wide jeans at half mast with doc marts. Amazingly I thought I looked dead smart!! Stoke had a good team back then think they were league cup holders at the time. Think that match was Nov or Dec cos I recall I was freezing my kna**ers off as I was just wearing a ben sherman shirt, no jumper no jacket...what a wally! KRO |

Mid November - and that was our first away win of the season. I still remember it well now. That season was my first in the top flight and also my first for going to away games with my mates (midland games as short journeys on the train from Tamworth)..we had WBA, Wolves, Derby and then Stoke by mid November. I take it your skinners were white. |
