Yes = Wood is back at Albion = Chris Wood is back 'home' at English Premier League club West Bromwich Albion but Birmingham City boss Chris Hughton admits the Championship are hoping to regain the All Whites striker's services. Wood had been on loan second-tier City since the start of this season but his latest extension expired on January 5 and he's returned back to The Hawthorns. The 20-year-old was an unused substitute in West Brom's 4-2 home win over Cardiff City in the third round of the FA Cup yesterday, and manager Roy Hodgson told media he wanted to assess Wood for a while before deciding whether the Kiwi will be farmed out again. Wood impressed in reaching double figures during his time at Birmingham before the deal expired, with nine Championship goals for City and two in the Europa League. Despite being the club's most potent striker in terms of goals scored, he was not a regular starter in the past two months, more often coming off the bench. However, Hughton is hoping to take Wood to back to St Andrew's. ''At this moment, Chris is a West Brom player. He's gone back to West Brom. His loan has finished and was in their squad today,'' he said. ''But we've been in regular communication with West Brom and he is one we'd like to bring back.'' Other Championship clubs have reportedly shown interest in Wood, but the former Waikato FC forward will want to stamp his mark at West Brom and become a regular in the matchday squad. He was happy to be back in a Baggies shirt. ''Good reception from the WBA fans today,'' he tweeted after yesterday's match. ''Very nice to come back to that.'' |

Yep, Not sue if he is comming back either. There is a 'whisper' from inside the Hawthorns that they may use him as a sweetner for Bristol City (loan for the rest of the season) to get Maynard!! :( |

He had a decent spell but if he thinks hes been playing well enough to start ahead of the other strikers every week then he's deluded. See ya later Woody! |

he knows he has not been playing well enough, but there is only one way to end a goal drought and sitting on the bench wont do it. so he wants to go somewhere were he will get more games, whats wrong with that? |

No I agree with it and I'm happy for him to. I like the bloke he always came across as a pleasant enough individual but he just wasn't playing well enough towards the end of his spell here. I would have liked the goal scoring form to have continued! The issue was without his goals there was very little else to his game and he would go missing for long spells. |
