Is it really bad news, its not like he set the place on fire during the second half of his loan spell. The baggies wanted Maynard, wood wanted first team football every week, thats why he's gone.

Left when the going got tough, not bothered to fight for his place in the team.

I thank him for all his goals, gave me some great memories in Europe but his all round game is pretty poor.

i thought this at 1st, however he hasnt come on loan to fight for a place as he could of just stayed at wba. he has been loaned to play games, wont improve sitting on our bench or any other bench.

fair play to him for wanting to play games. but be of a worry that if we lose ziggy in the window, we only have king who has been a regular for the season so our season will impact on if the new forward/forwards can adapt quickly and start scoring early.

WBA will have pushed him in that direction, sensing more opportunities at Bristol City.

I'm not overly fussed, we could do with bringing in a frontman with some pace.

Yea but sometime loans are to allow a player to get some game time which he would get at his parent club before he goes back and stacks his claim for a place in the team.

Not that surprising. He had looked out of sorts of late and he wasn't getting the game time that I suspect Albion would have liked him to have. I think the interesting thing is what we do now in regards to loaning/buying another player or go with what we're got?

We could do with a nippy type of striker, one that can turn defences and get in behind them.

I agree - we need some pace as an option.

It's probably down to the fact of 1) he knows Derek McInnes from the Albion previously and 2) It might smooth over an Albion move for Nicky Maynard.

Oh and 3) he may have been guarenteed a start if fit.

just heard he hs signed for the rest of the season for Bristol City....not sure why we havent got him.......
if we loose Zigic, or we have injury, it leaves us very thin in the forward department, a little worrying for rest of season

Well at least it will force our hand in a way to go and get someone else in, there is still plenty of time for us to snare another loanee or two?? Pretty please!! :D

HE DIDN'T WANT TO SIGN FOR US AGAIN!

He wasn't playing very well and found himself on the bench.

To replace Zigic we are going to need two players and a very long coat!

Cant see where this negativity has come from folks he is a 20 yr old kid he scored 11 goals only got 15 starts, he did GREAT!! Thanks Chris you were fantastic.

KRO

at last, some common sense.. i cannot believe how quickly supporters are to turn on a player.. the lad scored more in the short time he was here than others have managed in a season!

shame to see him go but it seems as though many aren't..

The Boggies want him playing regularly, he wants to start every game.....we can't guarantee that so off he goes.

great when he's scoring, but when he's down and npt scoring he wont fight and his all round game is very poor. shows lots of potential, but atm isnt right for the side. Thanks for the goals chris, but when you don't work you dont play.

I`m willing to wager that C.Hughton made his mind up a while ago that he wasn`t going to pursue Woods loan signature for the second part of the season...

And I suspect he has his eye on someone else...

Someone who gives us something we haven`t got, someone with a bit of pace maybe ???

Think pace !.... and we might just be on too our Jan transfer window signing boys & girls !

My thoughts are that he obviously wasn't that happy at St Andrews so Good Riddance

He's gone to a club that are embroiled deep in a relegation fight instead of re-joining a club chasing the Play Offs

Despite his impressive goal tally , was he really that good ?.....lacks a lot of pace for one thing and he's only 19 or 20

Obviously had to do with Derek McInnes being manager at Bristol, he has links to The Baggies I believe

But so much for Roy Hodgson wanted to 'weigh up his options' on Wood for the time being and do an assessment

It's enough to make you weep
