An odd one this, perhaps he wasn't that happy at Blues for some reason?

as i said on transfer talk, when he isnt scoring he the rest of his game is poor, needs service to suit him, and i hope CH will bring in someone with a better all round game...
in chris huughton we trust!

Needs to develop an all round game, even if we kept him for the rest of the season I still would not have been pushed on him signing permanently.

Gave us all some memories to never forget, especially in Bruges! But overall, his all round game isnt that good, he didnt bring anything to us unless he was scoring, which isnt particularly good.

For a taller player, he wasnt too good aerially, and on the deck he looked uneasy at times, with a poor touch.

Fair play for him for coming in, and scoring us some goals like he did.. if we can bring in another striker or two now to replace him (or even bring one of Jervis/Asante back) and provide additional competition for King, Zigic and Rooney then its good all round IMO.

Can't believe some of you lot. Unbelievable, really.

He's a young lad who came on loan, it worked quite well for both parties, but he obviously wants more starts, so off to Bristol he goes where he'll probably get them, can anyone blame him? At the end of the day he's an Albion player, and they want him to get first team experience.

Cheers Wood for your efforts this season, good luck for the rest of your future.

Judging by his tweets he loved it here, seems to be close with Redmond.

I think it basically comes down to Hughton preferring King and Zigic over him and the whole point of him being loaned out is to get experience, NOT to sit on the bench.

Don't know if this has already been posted but...why would the Albion help us get promoted if it meant Ben Foster came back to us

But a player has to earn that first team experience

In other words even loanees do not have a basic right to be picked all the time

Wood was dropped due to a chronic lack of form over last six weeks or so

There are better strikers out there that we can loan

I don't think it's a great loss at all

I appreciate that he and West Brom wanted him to play first team football, but you cant just be automatic first choice when your out of sorts and playing poorly.

Wood's been largely anonymous since Bruges away really, is that really the form you need to show to be first choice? Because its not, especially with a couple of other players breathing down your neck for your spot.

Is it any sort of lesson to teach to young players, that 'no matter how poorly you play, you'll always be first choice'? Hughton dropped him when his effectiveness lessened, and got the call right for me...

1. he was sent to us to get game time - he isnt getting that stuck on the bench so he left

2. ch already said in the mail he had a plan b incase wood didnt resign

3. why the resentment for someone who scored so many goals in a successful short loan spell...some of your attitudes on here frankly stink!

Perhaps Blues weren't happy with him? Doesn't look like they tried very hard to keep him here?

What a bummer!! If WBA were gonna loan him out again, it woulda been nice to get him back for the rest of the season...
