The Last Player to Bottle a Challange in a Blues Shirt was Bryan Huges
He never got the fans back after that.
Last Night King bottled a one on one with the Keeper and was Booed
will the fans forgive him?

just asking the question

The fans never forgave Hughes? Huh

I sense this is an non existent issue. King is on the pitch to score goals and take chances not fly into crunching tackles on goalkeepers. I don't recall this incident anyway?

He was off side so give him the benefit of the doubt!!!!

The first line in this thread couldn't be much less accurate. Hundreds of Blues players have bottled tackles, Hughes definitely wasn't the most recent.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who's noticed this!

Got to be honest I think a lot of his family were in the stand last night voting for him as MOM......couldn't pick one player out, i thought it wasn't one of their better performances. If anyone shaded it last night I'd have to go for Curtis Davies.

Didn't look like he bottled it to me.

I doubt he'd have got to the ball without causing injury to the goalie tbh.

Talking about bottling tackles, best add redmond and Fahey from last night.

I dont like to get on the anti-Jerome bandwagon but I saw him regularly pull out of a challenge.

Having said that are you allowed to challenge these days since that wimp Platini outlawed tackling from the game.

This is a right nobrot of a thread.

Bottling a tackle? I should imagine most players have at one time during their career... I think the only player not to would be Marcus Bent as the lazy git would never be anywhere near a tackle.

...and when did we get on Bryan Hughes' back? I never did and I never heard anybody else either.

He definitely bottled the challenge, but as previously stated, he was offside so it didn't matter!

1. He never bottled it. ball far too ahead of him.
2. The lino incorrectly raised his flag as it was a back pass as i remember.
3. i never heard ant booing.

the lino got the decision wrong, it was a back pass, therefore he wasn't offside. The fans were booing the lino because of this shockin decision.

Back on topic though, King bottles most things, and so do most of the others. I can't see much passion running through this team at all apart from the obvious Carr.

Yeah but the linesman still decided to raise his flag.. The keeper got to the ball 1st anyway, that's the end of it..

Dont see much passion in our team? Really :S ?

Also, how can King's bottle even be questioned when he stepped up just a couple of weeks back to take a 94th minute penalty against Peterborough...

I think if Burke met every 50/50 ball he would be constantly be on the injury list!

King had a great effort hit the post 3-1 would have really flattered Blues.

No it wouldn't.

I agree it was a poor performance but we still had a load of chances, King, Zigic and Burke. We got behind the full backs all the time, but the crossing and choice of final ball were at times dreadful.

If we can win with our worst home performance of the season I'm happy with that.

Fahey bottles tackles every week (though he does seem to be getting better since N'Daw was next to him) and Spector pulled out of a couple on Wednesday with the one in front of the Main Stand being the worst!

I couldn't understand the booing of King...I thought it may have been aimed at the Linesman but I didn't see if he had put the flag up!?

Nobody was booing King it was aimed at the linesman (don't like assistant referee) who put his flag up for offside when it was clearly a back pass.
Most people around me didn't boo but just laughed at how the linesman had got it completely wrong. It was such a bad decision you had to laugh.
