I have just looked at the table before what should be a very intesting set of fixtures today.

10 points off second but still with a game in hand.

Then look at the eight teams above us, we only have to travel to WHU and Leeds. Blackpool excepted the rest have to visit us.

I believe!!!!!!

This before I have started drinking as well

I am a lot happier now that we are closer to the top two than the bottom three, my biggest worry has always been that if we were to have points taken away for adminstration we would be in big danger, that would still be the case but we would not drop into the bottom three if we had ten points taken away.

As for promotion, if we get top six I will be over the moon, two two and I will drop my trousers on the pitch! :P

I highly doubt we can achieve 2nd place now but play offs are more realistic chance for us. If we win today and other results go our way then were right in the play off position.

Top 6 should still be the minimum aim for this season despite the financial problems..

We have still got one of the strongest teams in the league, in fact I would say only West ham have a stronger 1st choice 11..

Hopefully hughton will be allowed to bring in another striker though to help zigic and King..

Doesn't matter how strong your team or squad is you still have to win games and, most importantly, score goals. Plus have a reasonable away record which, at the moment, we most certainly don't!!

I wouldn't say that. We are extremely weak up front and will continue to be so unless we bring in two forwards this January......but who and what with?

:blues: We will def be aiming for top 6 and im sure we will be in it but I believe we can quite easily take one of the 2 automatic spots cause WH and Southampton are gonna slip up at sometime theres no way they willl both carry on winning. so Come on Blues 7 points catch up its not much at all. :blues:

I too hope we finish in the top two, the play off route may see us have a bad game and lose out. However, we haven't just got to catch up, the winning needs to be consistent to stay up there. Unfortunately I don't think we've got enough quality for that.

I hope I'm wrong, going up would take some of the pain I still feel from last season and the summer.
Maybe a couple of strikers may do it, but in January that's what most teams are after, so there isn't much of a pick.
God knows us fans, Hughton and the boys deserve it, I just pray we can do it!

Maybe I need to believe a bit more??

lets not get carried away just yet.

we've still got to get through the transfer window and there is always the possibility of a 10 point deduction at some point this season.

I think West Ham will win the league, but Soton , are slipping and I think they will drop into the play off's, after that there is no stand out team.

For me it is a bit like last Wednesday night, we went 1 0 up earlyand playing well and my son turned to me and said we could do with a 5 0 here, I said 'I'll just take the win , any way possible. It a bit tike the promotion , we have all got our hopes up, for me, after pre season , and depending on January, IF we make the play off's , I think CH should be given the freedom of the City, and it will have been one of the most enjoyable years........

I think West Ham have the manager, the depth and the squad to clinch the Title

Southampton may have peaked too early, can't see them racking up points consistently over a whole season plus thay have to come to SA as do Cardiff and Boro

Cannot dismiss the threat from the likes of Hull, Burnley and Reading either who have also improved rapidly of late as we have

I think Reading could well be a dark horse....Ironically we play them at home on the final day

Will be a Hell of a battle but the runners up spot is anyone's at the moment

Play Offs are money spinners but you have to win on aggregate over two games and then win a high profile game at Wembley with the whole world watching.....if you clinch the Title or the runners up spot you are already back in the Promised Land and can start planning immediately instead of another two or three weeks of waiting and tension

Prefer automatic but if it has to be the Play Offs, so be it .....Finishing third and fourth is advantageous as it guarantees the home advantage in the 2nd leg of the semi final

Although having said that we did achieve success in 2002 after finishing 5th.....we drew with Millwall 1-1 at SA and then went to Millwall and won with the famous Stern John goal late on and a really resolute display

Then we needed a penalty shoot out v Norwich to go up

Interestingly there was talk being banded about over the League making the Play off Final a Golden Goal in extra time if scores were level at 90 mins.....If that had been the case Norwich would have gone up instead

Phew ! Lucky, eh

Can the nerves take it again ???
