jeff astle had just put the ball in evertons net. i was at wembley with my dad and we both danced with delight and it was probably the best footballing day of my life. sadly both are no longer with us and i miss them both so much. R.I.P. dad and jeff and thanks for the memories. |

RIP Jeff. ,,,but Maulley, I should have been there with my Dad. We (the 2nd division underdogs) outplayed you at Villa Park in the SF. We lost to a (typical) Jim Herriott mistake and a ( rare) Barry Bridges off-day. I still like WBA...and that side under Big Ron in the late 70s/early80s were the tops for pure football. RIP Jeff. |
