The mighty Celtic became the 1st British team to lift the European Cup, AND every player was a Glaswegian, and only one Our own Bertie Auld cost a fee.
From memory it was played late afternoon midweek, and Inter scored an early Pen and then tried to defend to the end.

Milans Football was horribly defensive, think it was called the Cattenachio style some called it Anti Football or door bolt defence, it was created by the legendary coach Helleno Herrarri (spelling) but luckily for all true football lovers, the Great Jock Steins buccaneeriong style of attacking play proved too much on the day.
Celtic won 2.1 and returned three years later to contest the final again, this time losing to Feyenoord.
Despite Rangers pre eminance in the Domestic game, this is the one where Celts are way out in front, will the Gers ever contest a Champs league final? Highly unlikely!

yeah they used to say the same about 9 in a row until rangers equalled it. bit like liverpool to united, come back when its 18 they did and the scousers hate it.
as for celtic it was a great win in europe, despite the scottish league one being rubbish back then and celtic or rangers had to win it, still the same today. it was easy for a scottish team to enter the european cup. having said that they then still had to beat the cream of europe which they did and so the trophy was well earned.but still to go on and on is a bit like saying the albion are the only team EVER to win the cup and promotion in the same season, dont make them great now does it. its just lucky that we were playing blues in the cup final that day which made the achievement that much easier.
boing boing, and lets all laugh at celtics b team, ooops sorry hibs. 5-1. the hibs fans leave hampden to go home and hide said the commentater, how embarrising was that. but still as a celtic man at least you can say you were dumped out of the cup by the eventual cup winners. bit like 68, des have you ever thought you are a bloody jinx to your terams.

Thanks for the response Maulley! Talking about jinxes, bet you were there when Albion lost two semis in the same year back in the day, league & FA cup and no doubt you were at Hillsborough when Alan Clarkes put you out in 69.

I was at Wembley last year when we won the carling cup so my HEX must be lifted!

I was in Maggaluf watchin celts play Porto in Uefa final 2002? alongside me was a father & son Jocko both Gers, the young one jumped up & roared with delight when Porto won, his dad was apologising to everyone English in the room who were 100% behind the BHOYS!!

Unlike you guys Celtic were great value in that Porto final, when you lot played in Manchester your performance stunk the place out!!!

HAIL HAIL & KRO

Joking apart I would love the auld firm to come down and play in our league, even if Gers started in conferance feeder league, Give them a decade and they would be in the prem!

des my mate, i am not a teady bear i am a jambo, i just hate celtic, hibs and st mirren. oh and dirty cheating aberdeen.
yes i was at hilssborouh in 69 when alan clarke did indeed dump us out the cup 5 minutes from time. hillsborough has never been a lucky ground for albion.
i was also at hampden when hearts were 1-0 up with 3 minutes to go against celtic in the semi and henry smith dropped the ball and gave away the equaliser and celtics winner a minute later was a foul on smith.
and i was at dundee when hearts lost the league to celtic on goal difference it was 0-0 with 7 minutes left and albert kidd came on and scored twice. the rangers fans listening on radios were celebrating because they thought walter kidd had scored for hearts. at st mirren they kindly rolled over to let celtic win 5-1 and so win the league. mcgarvey who was ex celtic was dancing on the pitch with the celtic fans after the game. st mirren dropped their scottish goalkeeper campbell money for the game, for the first time that season the rumopur was he refused to lie down like the others.
happy days.
hello hello we are the gorgie boys.

I reserve all my hate & spite for The Villa, dont even dislike anyone else!
When we are playing someone they are opponents but cant build any hate certainly not residual, just keep it for the day.

Also in Europe I support evry british team, even wanted Gers to win in Manchester a few years back.
I remember When they won in early 70s wild willie johnstone scored but do not recall it being on TV? Strange as it was a cup winners cup final!

Is my memory playing tricks on me, I do recall them on TV in 67 when the lege that was Roger Hynd played centre forward for them.

I liked the original Star Wars - 35 years ago! Alien is a good flick, though, even after all these years. And next month, it'll be thirty years since the sublime Blade Runner was released!

Bart,
I remember stood in a queue with my daughter waiting to get into Star Wars in the old Queensway cinema - queue half a mile or more down the road and back under the subway... as I looked around I realised that I was the only person over 4ft 6 in the whole road. :LMAO:
We played truant and sick leave - because it opened a week later where we lived then.

This was the first day of release, and when the lights began dimming....the first flicker of the 20th Century logo - through the curtains - sent the kids into such high decibels ...it blew me away. I kept thinking, how did they know this was the film, it could have been another trailer etc...have all 2.000 of them seen it already ?

Best cinema experience for me - ever, in terms of the story and the involvement of the audience. Never surpassed.
As I'm sure any other person over 4ft 6" in that audience would agree with....mind numbing.
