I know most Bluenoses will be cheering on England during the Euro's as i have an Irish background i'll be cheering the boys in green as well. A pal of mine, a born and bred brummy who now lives on the west coast of Ireland in Galway, he sent me a link for this song he and some friends recorded for the Irish team and is giving all monies to the local hospice. So for the small cost of 79p i'm calling on the kind hearts of Blues Fans can ya please help him raise a few bob for a worthy cause.KRO http://itunes.apple.com/ie/album/irish-ste...gle/id525890857 |

Our nation is bigger than one player. I don't like what Marlon has done in his time but he's a bloody good player, same with JT. |

Supporting Ireland and England as I always do. Why would I not, I'm Irish and I support Blues. Really hope yee lads get far. Dont understand our manager, Wes Hoolahan should be in that squad. He never picks the obvious choices. Ah well, lets hope for good football with plenty of excitement!!! :ball: |

Grow up mate. People supporting Ireland are the same plums who go out and celebrate St Patricks day despite never having stepped foot in Ireland. You’re not cool. |

The missus and her family are Irish, so I'll be supporting them too. Can remember being in The Dubliner when they played Germany in 2002. Equalised in last minute of injury time and 150 peeved paddy's made more noise than an entire stadium. Loudest thing I've ever heard. |

:LMAO: Crikey mate Does that mean, by extrapolation, that you must support the club from the village /town /city you were born in? An end to respect and appreciation in one fell swoop. I wasn't born in France, but have admired and respected them (mostly) from the early 80s. I wasn't born in Ireland, but I've respected them from Big Jack's time. I wasn't born in Scotland - but I like a laugh :D I wasn't born in Birmingham, but have been a season ticket holder at St Andrews since the early 70s. And I wasn't born in Brazil, but I'd support them in any FINAL against anyone, except France, Ireland and England. Surely supporting and having an external (to oneself's) appreciation and respect for another team is allowed. It's called choice and free will. It's also called being honest, giving credit where credit is due. Were you in the Stasi mate? :D |

Like someone said its all about your roots. my mom& Dad (rip) both Irish, I`m English, I support England 1st & foremost then look out for Ireland. However when we are out I am always drawn to any good footballing team, Brazil 70 best ever Germany 74 what a team Argentina both 78 & 86 & France 98. That phrase of Peles `THE BEAUTIFULL GAME` still holds true. KRO |

My ancestors were probably neanderthals ( according to recent research - so were yours). But they don't have a football team at the moment friend, so I will support England and 'hate' nobody. I often watch matches as a nuetral, and just tend to go by the way either team plays, diving and feigning or kicking and tripping helps me make up my mind. I have no problem supporting any other club side, English, Welsh or Scot, should I see them on TV. I don't 'hate' any club or country maulley my friend, I'll support who I think is good and honest, as soon as Blues or England or Wales or Scotland are out of it. **thumbup |

hate is probably the wrong word my friend.i dont really hate anyone except, oh not here this is about football. i just dont bother watching teams like france, but to be absolutely honest i am not that interested in the euros anyway. england promise so much then blow out in the semis and then the idiots go on the rampage. there is a cricket club near where i live who make a big thing of england playing in tournaments like the world cup etc. they have barbacues and keep the bar open till midnight etc then when england get knocked out half the cars on the estate get vandalised. and the police say we dont know who has done it, its nothing to do with the cricket club. so i would prefer england to go out as soon as poss. |

:) I know that friend, I just took an opportunist dig at you, because you are usually well thought out and comprehensive. And you left an opening. :) Not to worry. This euro eh ? Perhaps with low expectations and a low attendance by English lager-louts ( wonder why? :D ) - -we may see a genuine English performance. As of old. Well, 20 or or 40 years of old.... Where do you live? .. Rhetorical.. **thumbup - do you have pot-bellied, baseball-bat-carrying, 45 year old "geezers" - doing 'neighbourhood watch' patrols? Before closing time? I did. But not anymore :LMAO: |

i live in hyde my friend. famous or infamous for brady and hindley and shipman. some history that eh. but generally now it is a good place to live, its just when outsiders come in and get tanked up and cant handle it. hyde united are a good football club they won their league this year and are slowly makeing their way to the conference. so its not all bad news. dont it p**s you off when a few spoil it for the majority |

Yes . And in my somewhat lmited experience of following England abroad ( well - mostly in Europe ) - I've found that the trouble always starts from the fans from lower divisions. Even the Conference. Pr@tts chanting team names that most of the London mobs have never heard of! I don't want to single them out, but some begin with an L, some with an H ..some even with a BU. If anyone has been there and seen the provocation and damage caused by these latent wannabe hooligans, they will understand. I think that a fair few regular, England "fans" don't mind mucking in, but they stand askance at the drivel racist abuse (against any non-English) that our country cousins pour out. It's like they have a template of how to be a hooligan, and they want to impress it upon the middle aged drunks hanging around. Who they possibly, regard as 'Gods'. Probably accounts for why so many of the lower league fans are so young. Just wannabes. That's my view anyway. Sad Man 101 |

Midland red yes somethings about the england fans are annoying to say the least but I first went in 98 and on the whole most trips are just fun fun fun, we have found that the fans who fly in on the day are the worst, we always get to every city the day before a game and have hardly ever seen any bother I`m pkeased to say! C`mon England & KRO |

Sadly for some on here, Ireland are woeful and the worst team in the competition. I heard something about their fans on the radio which made laugh. There is banner which went something along the lines of "you have Xavi Inneusta , we have Long Cox". Classic. :LMAO: |

Yeah, we are definitely the worst team in it. Our banners were quite good though - we may as well just have a bit of craic as the team are cr@p At least we get to cheer on England, good luck lads, hope yee can do it!!! **thumbup |
