Just 5 days away until it starts!

So who is your money on? And where do we think England finish?

My money is on France and i think we will get knocked out by Spain in the game after the group stages, Quarters i think?.

Anyone doing a fantasy football league for it anywhere?

France?!
Holland or Germany will win it!
We have no chance, Martin Kelly has been called up to the squad now, just proves Rio wasn't left out for 'footballing reasons' because its a no contest between him and Kelly.

6 Liverpool players are in the squad, from one of the worst Liverpool squads in a very very long time!

Shocked and appalled by the squad.

Seems like Hodgson is hung up on his failure at Anfield so is trying to make it up to them by picking as many average Liverpool players as possible.

Theres no way Henderson, Kelly, G.Johnson or Downing should be in there.. and Carroll's lucky to be too... Gerrards also been injured all season/has limited effect nowadays it seems.

Germany will win.

Russia will be a potential dark horse.

Do not think that Roy is trying to make it up to Liverpool, it is just that Liverpool are probably the only top side with an English spine to their team. I would not be too harsh on his picks.

I would have selected G Johnson but only as a backup to Micah Richards. Kelly is only in the squad because Richards rejected a place on the stand by list. To be fair Kelly will only be 3rd choice RB and 5th choice CB, so will not see any game time. It will give him tournament experience for the future which is no harm. Would not have brought Henderson but he will not see much gametime and he will get some tournament experience.

Downing's selection is not that bad. I agree that there was no point bringing both Walcott and Lennon because they are far too similar. Adam Johnson is the only other notable winger and I think he is vastly overrated. A couple of good sub appearances here and there but he has not shown enough to be a guaranteed pick. Downing while he did have a poor season, he is a hard working winger and will put in a shift which is the style of play that England have adapted.

Carroll I think deserved to be called up, he was probably the inform English striker towards the end of the season. It was harsh on Crouch, personally I think Carroll's age worked in his advantage.

Overall' it is not a great English squad or an especially talented squad but barring Micah Richards and the injured players, I think it is the best squad Roy could have put together. England will not be easy to beat, and would not be surprised if they make it as far the semi-final and even the final.

I think all three of his call ups for injuries have been strange.

G.Johnson>Richards
Downing>A.Johnson
Barry>Carrick

to even start with.

Then the two callups, Kelly and Henderson shouldve probably been :

Kelly > Ferdinand
Henderson > Anyone... Cleverley/Rodwell/hell even Beckham.. or even take a risk, call up Daniel Sturridge, use Milner more as a CM and utilise Sturridge or Welbeck out wide.

Id have took Gerrard and Carroll, as limited an effect they had during the season.

All IMO of course.

At least for once the nation is realistic about our chances going into a tournament.

We're blues fans, so we're used to supporting an under dog, and it's a lot more fun so get behind the boys!! We've had a great team on paper for as long as I can remember that failed to deliver, maybe now we can deliver with this squad that people are ripping apart.

Now we've apparently got the wrong kit as well, http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/euro2012/...kit-furore.html.

So, a week away from the tournament England have been criticised for the squad, the kit, the choice of manager and the location of their base in Poland, going well.

Not my place to talk but it seems that Ferdinand was not picked because of Terry's situation with the Ferdinands.

So, as I've thought before, Terry should have been dropped at the very beginning, Rio regardless of some not favouring him is a solid national team player. Terry is just a negative influence.

Really disappointed with the squad selection, the games played, the injury call ups, everything really, we will be lucky to get out of the ground stages tbh, we have looked okay defensively, but don't look like a team capable of scoring goals, I liked to the side under Capello, yes it was predictive but it was better then how we've been playing now

For me I think Germany will win it, Spain running them close, with France and Holland bringing up the rear

Italy, holland, germany or Russia to win tournament. Still looking forward to it despite hearing and seeing lots of people lose interest already because of factors surrounding rio's exclusion!

In every tournament he has played for England he has come out of it with credit unlike terry who was part of the team that loss to the germans so shamefully.

If England get out of the group it will be a fabulous achievement considering we have a new manager whose fascination with Liverpool players is starting to irritate me.

Terry has finished Hodgson before he's started. I thought they went for a yes man in RH with a remit to get rid of the odious Terry. Couldnt believe it when he was picked. The tournament and our chances are over for me in the selection of that creep.
Holland 13/2 look a great bet to win it.

IMO
the last 4 will be germany, holland, spain and france.
poland will make it out of group A with russia, but neither will make it any further, germany and holland will go through from group B, denmark 3rd then portugal.
spain will make it out of group C, with any of the other 3 going through but going out in the quarters. I like croatia here, just got a feeling about them, because italian football is a mess at the minute, although i wouldn't count them out at the group stages i can't see them going much further, and ireland just don't have the quality imo ( i hope i'm wrong though). France will win group D, england will scrape through, followed by ukraine then sweden. if we got spain i think we could try stifle them in the QF but tbh i don't think we have the quality to go any further. we play a system that could bore our way through the tournament but imo we wont have enough to go all the way, and we can count ourselves lucky to get to the QF.

Obviously I want England and Roy to do well, but I dont think we have a chance. Not seen any european side play lately so I'll just go for France to win.

Spain are still the dominant side in world football.

Outside bet on the French e/w, Benzema/Silva for top scorer. Sweden, Spain, Holland & Poland to win their groups.
