They absolutely battered Holland tonight, should have won by a few more. They beat the Danes 3-2, I don't see why they don't deserve to be where they are.
If it's just Ronaldo you don't like, why not say so?

Who the hell likes Ronaldo fella?

That snide remark has nothing to do with anything. :banghead:

My comment was a praise of Portugal - obviously you are too thick like to see that

It was also a criticism of their naivety in only relying on one outlet, one player to turn or influence a game.

NO, like, I don't think Portugal deserves their place. Yes, I don't like Mr Ronaldo - but consider and respect him as the third best current footballer on Planet Earth.
Shame he is the ONLY hope for a swarming and going nowhere like, midfield.

That was me point like.

Now, buggar off and annoy someone else. Or..how about this?

Start a thread yourself, about your opinions, ideas etc.

There you go fella. Your turn. Give us

Why Not ? Grow Up and Give Up fella

They remind me of a swarm of bees, hundreds upon hundreds going this way and that and only ever being meaningful through one outlet.

A guy who has to call over his team mates to congratulate him, and only 2 bothered :LMAO:

Any team with nous will deal with it.

I don't think the Czechs will though, so it's Portugal into the semis I figure ---but like, unworthy imo.

**thumbup

High praise indeed...

Spain v France ?

I notice that Blanc has been saying that team arguments delayed proper training after the loss to Swden. Is this an echo of the World Cup ?

As much as Spain annoy me, the French annoy me more. Let's hope Spain can add to their 1 goal *drumroll*

(I do have a sneaking respect for Spain, they play like a team controlled by one mind)

France aren't the team they used to be, but Spain aint either. It wasnt that good a match. What we need is for someone to stop the Germans invading the final

I think the Spain France game was exhibit A in the prosecution of why good football doesn't always make exciting football.

If you asked most Blues fans if they wanted us to play like Spain, there'd be a unanimous chorus of approval, but if we served up games like that every week, thered soon be complaints that it was boring.

Have to agree about the style of football that Spain use, it is effective but it is not enjoyable. They employ a methodical style of football slowly picking apart opponents and it is impressive that so many of their player have over 90% pass completion rate but I never really get any enjoyment from watching Spain passing the ball about. I like games to be played at a certain pace, and last night's pedestrian pace left me bored.

I am hoping that they do not win the Euros. So hopefully either Germany or England can beat them.

Portugal will have an extra couple of days rest, and they have something which France desperately lacked last night: someone who can go past defenders.

Ribery was clearly pinpointed as the man to do that job for France, but he was appalling, leaving Benzema to have to do it all on his own. Ronaldo on the other hand has grown into the tournament and is the sort of player who can receive the ball under extreme pressure, beat two defenders and open up the pitch. Nani, if he gets a bit of space, can do a similar job but without the same explosion of pace and power.

The issue for Portugal will be the centre of midfield, where Veloso, Meireles and Moutinho are a far weaker combination than whichever three the Spanish choose.

I'd be tempted to back Portugal to make it very, very difficult for Spain, tiring them over 90 minutes, and then beating them in extra-time.

Was the team picked on the basis of highest wages per player per position?

I know cream floats to the top, as they say, but not wanting to slag, there were a couple or three players starting whom I don't think 'Arry nor even Venables would put in the squad. McClaren might have :LMAO:

We've done well-ish I think, bit like Blues, nearly got there but you can't do tactics when the engine is running on vapours.

Now is the real test for Mr Hodgson. Do you trust players under 25 yrs old?

God how bad were we? If any other player played like Rooney did tonight he would of been subbed. Disappointed at how bad we were tonight, but I look forward to seeing how good Hodgson really can be as England manager.

Portugal to win! :blues:

But not Portugal please :)

Spain, I'm sorry, really bore me and Portugal are Spain based on one player and not four.

Germany should walk it, but on the basis that they are all Germans, I'd like Italy to win and also to only partially bore me.... and BonkersBallo to score the winning goal.

That was like watching Blues two seasons ago trying to cling on for the plucky 0-0 draw. I can see that we've got some good young players like Hart, Welbeck and Walcott, but I can't see us threatening the elite for a while. Still, we'll probably qualify for the world cup as we're better on rainy nights in November that scorchio afternoons in Rio.
