I really cant get Hodgson's decision to play Young off the striker in a 4-4-1-1. In fact I think it's bloody stupid. Why not put him on the wing and tell him to do for his country what he does for his club. Sir Alex Ferguson knows one or two things about football and he put him on the wing so did MON but all of a sudden Hodgeson thinks he can turn the lad into Denis Bergkemp WTF. WTF is Oxlaide-Chamberlain doing in the squad he clearly isnt ready. Aaron Lennon is streets ahead. I think Hodgeson is intent on setting up England in a way to ensure HE does not get embarrassed rather than setting out to go and win the thing. He's made them solid at the back great but surely then it's all about what we can do going forward. I thought the first two matches were dire and can see us doing absolutely nothing prior to a half decent last hurragh which wont be enough. He doesnt have the pressure of club management, it's not about trying to accrue points to stay in the premier league that gives you funds to build your club. Instead it's trying to ensure England represent themselves well and try to win matches rather than limp about and bore the pants off those watching it. It's a tournament FFS give it a go!! :ph43r: |

Currently he is England manager - he was at WBA but left for the England job, prior to that he was at Liverpool for a short bit after managing Fulham for a while. It has been on the news and everything, surprised you missed it. |
