Do you remember it was rumoured that when the Chinese took over at Brum, they were going to switch the shirts to red for luck?

Yep, remember that well.

In all fairness, the idea behind the change is a fantastic one in terms of marketing. Wearing red and incoporating a dragon into Cardiffs logo will be killer in the Asian market. I actually think the crest and colour represents Welsh culture alot better than the 'Bluebird.

Also, a comment on the sky sports page tickled me.

What a disgrace.

I believe the Glamorgan cricket team have renamed themselves the Welsh Dragons for one day cricket this season.

Ridiculous to change the home kit and nickname, having a red away kit would surely have done the trick, not as bad as randomly moving a team to Milton Keynes, but you can understand the fans being upset.

I LIKE THE IDEA!!!

The owners, who are behind the change of colour, are also planning to write off a !"£$ load of debt, build a new training ground and invest in players. Seems like a small price to pay if they keep to their promise.

Cardiff fans aren't the only ones in Wales unhappy with this, Wrexham have a complaint too.

Another reason why modern football is completly broken and why I'm rapidly falling out of love with it.

At the crux of this is the cost and wages of players. Remove that, and the need for football clubs to be a buisness that needs to think about rebranding, renaming and remarketing their history in return for a quick buck goes away.

Until the disgusting level of wages paid to players vanishes, this will continue to happen to club after club.

I agree although it must be hard to accept 100 years plus of history being wiped out just like that!
