Initially I was very surprised that most of the rest of the SPL is planning to vote the "new" Rangers out of the league. Surely keeping them in is in their financial interests as the visits to and from Rangers/ Celtic must be their biggest earners of the season?

However, if it was one of the smaller clubs in this situation would Rangers be so obliging, I doubt it and this may be one way to (temporarily) end the domination of the Old Firm and give the rest of the league a shot at Europe, whose places are always sewn up by the big two and which must be a potentially bigger earner than the SPL clashes them.

The truth remains though that Rangers only have themselves to blame. They made the decision to mess with the Inland Revenue when everyone knows there is only ever one winner there; they get their money, all of it no matter what the consequences to the debtor.

Still, it might still turn out to Rangers advantage in the long run. Although it may be a long shot, the idea of them taking over an Englisg League club (Bury, for some reason is a possibilty) they mkight actually achieve their ambition og escaping the SPL, which I'm sure is what they and Celtic ultimately want, and make it to the Premier League. It's a long way between that and where thy are now but it might just be the opportunity they need.

By the way, have Celtic said how they will be voting?

I think this could be the route that eventually brings the auld firm south, without them the SPL on the same level as league of wales!

If that was the case I wonder what a vote for independence would do to a potential Rangers team in England

Fan power has spoken... most of the chairmen from the clubs who have publicy said they wouldn't back SEVCO (Rangers new company name :D ) mainly because of opposition from their own fans.

Nothing against SEVCO, but this is about the integrity of the sport.

and I :applause: the chairman who have been brave enough.

SEVCO will be back no doubt, it just maybe a few years until they are.

On Integrity of the sport... I hope no SCOTTISH team are ever allowed in the ENGLISH football league... just as I oppose WELSH teams being in it.

Its the English Premier League. Why would you want a franchise in a different country taking the place of a Tamworth or Luton or Oxford trying to get into the Football league.

In general I have nothing against Scottish, Welsh or Irish teams, but the only reason they want in is Cash, pure and simple.

All this talk (and it probably is just talk) of Sevco buying Hull to somehow join the English league sounds a complete nightmare.

I have every sympathy for Rangers fans, they have lost their club, their history and everything that came with it and it'll probably send a few other clubs in Scotland into administration too, but the reason is purely and simply down to greed on the part of the owners... should the fans suffer? I'm afraid they signed up to the deal by backing them through the lean years.

They'll be back, I just hope it is where they belong.... In Scotland.
