A team that has genuinely improved as the tournament progressed.

And to think, only a couple of weeks ago:

Coach Cesare Prandelli says he would not have a problem if Italy withdrew from Euro 2012 amid match-fixing allegations in the domestic league.

Police made 19 arrests while Domenico Criscito was dropped after he was questioned at Italy's training camp.

"If you told us for the good of football we should not participate, it wouldn't be a problem for me," Prandelli told Italian TV

I did not think they had a chance of getting out of their group, I even thought Ireland would finish ahead of them. However they have shown some real team spirit while playing some of the nicest football in the competition. Pirlo is a joy to watch. Have a strong defence, only fault is that they are not clinical enough which showed tonight where they had several chances to put the game beyond Germany but failed. If they remedy those problem they can definitely put it up to Spain. Their match against Spain in the group stages was a really good game so if they can repeat that performance in the final we should be in for a cracker. I am hoping Italy can do it.
